"Better Late Than Never" 057-er
« on: May 21, 2017, 10:58:29 PM »
Very happy with Peter's 057 with just a few rides under the belt. Thank you all for the archived information here -- went with the older 057 frame to work with something tried and true for my first build.

  • Frame: 057 XL
  • Wheel/hub: Stans Arch Mk3 (26mm internal); DT Swiss 350
  • Tires: Ardent 2.25
  • Fork: RS SID XX 100mm
  • Shifter/Mech: XT
  • Bar: Thomson trail carbon
  • Stem: RaceFace 60mm
  • Brakes: SLX
  • Rotors: XT 180/160
  • Cranks: 180mm XT
  • Chainring: OneUp Oval 32T
  • Cassette: Sunrace 11-46
  • Chain: SRAM PC-X1
  • Seatpost/saddle: Ritchey carbon and Synchros seat from old bike

For reference this setup came out to 23.5 lbs. After this set of Ardents I will look for something a little lighter. Also, the cassette is an anchor, however I love the range so far and it is a great price.  All suggestions welcome! :)

Very nice build. Looks like Yeti turquoise.

And I think the 057 is a very smart choice.. been beating on mine for a few years now.. very proven frame, as you know.

Nice build! As others have said i've been beating mine up for about a year now and no issues. As a matter of fact i had 3 wrecks on it this weekend (WTF!!!) with no marks or cracks  ;D
