Dream Bike

(1/1)

I'm looking for a open mold frame which supports 700c x 32 tires, flat mount disc brakes as well as rack mounts. I think the closest is the Carbonda CFR-505 (Does anyone else produce that frame?), but I would honestly prefer something a bit sportier. The vast majority of my rides are on the road, but I also do some light touring (2x20l pannier on a rear rack) on some mixed surfaces, and am thinking about getting into some endurance races. A full on gravel bike would be a bit overkill on the wide tire side of things. I am more of looking for a endurance CX bike with rack mounts (does that exist??).

Check out the Cyclocross section. There's a topic about that frame.

I've just built a 50mm deep wheelset, 30mm wide.
With 28mm tubeless tires on my 505( Schwalbe pro one, and IRC Formula pro for rougher rides ).
Being a stiff frame and with these wheels, it can definitely be sporty ;)

I am also about to buy the CFR505... do you guys know, if these carbon frames can handle a rack with two pannier bags, or are they going to break after some time?

I wouldn't do that on any carbon frame, you should go steel or titanium for this.
Maybe Peter here could arrange for you a Ti build based on this geometry( that would be interesting  ;) )

I did a long ride with the 505 with a 15L saddle bag, a frame bag, and a little top tube bag.
Add a handlebar bag, and you have quite some storage available.
