New Buyer: CS-057 vs BXT-015

(1/1)

Yetiultimate:
I'm new to the Chiner bikes but want to give one a try.  Can anyone weigh in with a comparison of these two frames?  I'm 6-02, 230 lbs, trail riding not racing, and looking at an XL, XT 1x11 build with a 100mm fork.  My past bikes have included a Yeti Big Top, an older Niner SIR9, and a Vassago Jabberwocky.  My least favorite was the Yeti.  It just felt huge and dead.  The other two steel frames were nice but I don't want to go SS again and the SIR EBB was giving me fits.

Does anyone know what the CS sale price is on the 057?  I've emailed Peter but its the weekend so he's probably off riding.

Are there any other XL frames I might want to consider that are @ the $300 mark?

thanks

Carbon_Dude:
You can't go wrong with an -057 frame, however, that design has been around for a few years, there are now frames with newer trail geometry being sold.

Most likely the -057 from Peter is around $300 or so.  You can have it custom painted, which can be nice instead of flat black.

Of what's on Peter's website now, the CS-887 looks pretty good.

Do you know what geometry specs you like?  Maybe go do some test rides first, find out what you like, then look for a frame with similar geometry.

But the CS-887 is 71 degrees head angle, while 057 is 69.5, also less reach, etc.
