Carbon Fatbike build

(1/6) > >>

TLundberg:
Hello everbody!

My first post here...

I'm collecting parts at the moment and this is what I got so far

F-FB02 19" Carbon frame and fork in 3k matt from Speedercycling.com
90mm Carbon rims 3k matt
Carbon handlebar and seatpost in 3k matt
Syncros 90mm stem
Shimano XT brakes
1X10 Shimano XT modified to run 11-42 with part from oneupcomponents.com

Still haven't decided if I should go with the rigid fork or a Rockshox Bluto

Also missing, undecided the following:

Crankset: Raceface Turbine Cinch?
Headset: ??
Saddle and grips ??
Hubs: Hope? Borealis? Other?

Please feel free to give me suggestions :-)

Finally! Some action for the fatty lovers among us! ;D Looking forward to your chiner fat bike build. Been contemplating one of my own for about 2 months now, so will def be following your build thread.

I have the same indecision about the fork.. rigid or the Bluto. I think, due to fat bikes being a bit heavier anyways, and having more cushion in the tyre, that I'm going to go with the rigid fork at first and later on I can sell it and upgrade to the Bluto if I feel it's needed.

As for hubs, Hope is basically the standard, so that will most likely be the route I take.

Sitar_Ned:
Yep.. Ready to see some Fat bike builds myself.

In particular though, I'm interested to see how your 42 rear cog performs. Are you going to do the RAD derailleur upgrade?

Thread about RAD: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,170.0.html

TLundberg:
Yes I do have the RAD upgrade. It will for sure be interesting to se how it performs. 36 to 42 will be a rather big step indeed.

As I have to build the wheels I have to decide to go rigid or bluto before I order the hubs. Does Hope have 150mm front hubs yet?

Sussed.:
Also interested to see this build !   :)  Haven't got my FS together yet and already looking for another project !
