When do you clip in?
Are those clipins hard to ride without being clipped in - yours look barly bigger than the pedal axle?

I'm always clipped. Don't you?
I find the bike too loose, if I'm not attached to it.

The pedals are the EggBeater from Crankbrothers.
Except on a flat, or easy road. You can't really pedal on them unclipped.

I find them easier to engage, and unclip than my previous Shimano XT(impossible to ride unclipped either).
The release is not strength based.
Instead you choose between a 15 or 20 degrees release angle.
Depending if you put the dotted  cleat under your right or left shoe.

The Eggbeaters have a fairly light release action. I'm using the same pedals currently. I find that riding them with a carbon sole shoes feel alot better for power transfer. I went from a Specialized Comp shoe to an S-Works Trail...and I can feel the difference when pedaling. There is also a bit less soreness in the arch of the foot due to less flexing of the shoe.

I did clips for road biking but not for mountain biking.
The tight, rocky trails here  in the central Texas(Austin) area are rough on the body and I 'feel' I need to be on pedals...plus I am more all around riding.
I can see where any trail where there isn't much technical would work for clips.

Should we split this topic and create a new one about clipless pedals?

Here are the geometry/drawing files of the 256 frame with all dimensions.
It helped me better to choose the right size than the classic table with fewer details.

They are from Honsen Bikes, but I guess they just added their name on top of the drawing all builders use.
Not sure when the first 256 was advertised,  but the drawings are dated May 2013.

These frames are generally built on order.

Honsen offers any BB you ask them.
Like many providers you will see referenced here.
