Breathing new life into the old P9
« on: April 14, 2022, 10:26:27 AM »
I just installed a Slack-R headset adapter into my four year old P9 to slacken the head angle. It seems to make a notable improvement in the downhill handling of the bike. Although with our recent 2' of snow I have been shut down from trail riding for a week or so.

Sorry actually probably 4 years now that I look back. I bought a P8 first, and the P9 shortly after words. It has been a solid bike. I sold the P8 and kept the P9. I put some lock tight on the pivot bearing screws and all has been good. I also bought a used Ibis Ripley that gets half of my riding. So, P9 isnt my only bike. But the Slack-R slackens the head angle to about 65 degrees i am guessing. Which makes it more useful for what I want to use it for.
