Elite Drive Gravel G45
« on: May 15, 2022, 01:11:44 AM »
Seen a few days ago elite wants to add a gravel version to their drive line. I can't tell if it's the lighting or they made the hubs black. Im not to sure about 45mm from a stiffness in gravel.  Though depending of conditions and your pace 45mm maybe what your looking for.  I'm curious what weight they could get these at in 30mm or 35mm. Wonder what width they will be? Will they be same as their road wheels or wider for gravel. Will they offer hookless option?

Let me see if I can grab a spec sheet and post.
They might be available in different depths.  In theory, nothing stops them from doing so. The wheels you got are 45mm, although these aren’t available on the site.

The weight is likely to be a bit higher due to the extra width, but I reckon no higher than the 50mm depth.  Total guess though.

Can’t say about hookless or not.  None of the gravel line is hookless, but they do offer hookless MTB rims…

5 years ago, I've built a ~1100g wheelset: ultralight 29er hookless rims + Novatec 411/412 hubs + sapim spokes. And still riding it.

I bought these from https://www.ebay.com/usr/hulkbike001
I quickly scanned the shop, but didn't see them anymore.

And here is an old post about it:

bxcc says he saw them from Elite as well.
I know Elite, as the brand, doesn't sell them, but their parent company (YuanAn composites) might. This is their OEM B2B side of the house.

Looking on their site, they have a couple appox 300g ultralight 29er rims.

I've just seen these rims on weightweenies: https://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=161137&start=45#p1746155

https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005002177903201.html?sku_id=12000018950702925&spm=a2g2x.orderlist.0.0.129b4aa6Y8AZoi
275g  :o

They have everything to desire: wide, no paint finish, offset and light.
You can even write "SCOOT" on them  ;D

They just miss the reputable seller stamp, but at first sight not worse than hulkbike001.
