Nice builds! Be careful with Hardrock Cranks: inner bolt is aluminum so it is easy to break it if you are overtightening cranks.
I already got frame and planning to build the bike soon.
Also got mine with flat mount adapter… but I thought it is FM 160 => PM 160. Are you sure it is FM to PM 180?

Yes, it is FM160-PM160 on the rear.
And the rigid fork has a PM 160 to PM 180mm adapter

Hello everybody,

  I still must wait a little bit, but the frame is painted.
  it turned out really great. Exactly as the drawing.
Let's see when it is here.. since it's for my Dad, I definitely "must" and will do some test rides to have all screwed connections and bearings settled so he won't need to do anything, just hop on and ride.

The wheels are already finished,I built a robust combination of Duke Aluminum rims , CX Ray and DT Swiss 350 hubs.. and to give it a tiny bit of shine i took blue nipples.  can't upload a photo of them ... don't know why.

  no.
This should be a bright teal regarding colour composition. So it would not match the SID blue. I have seen some mountainbikes with bright area on the steering and a dark fork. It looks really nice.

Actually, this build started from fork. I bought it on local market for a good price in the beginning of winter. And on the last stage I noticed orange grips in local shop and thought:  “Hm… why not?” Now it feels good. Orange feels sunny and not so gloomily like all black)

First post here. Have been following for a little while to get advice and inspiration for a new build, which I finished yesterday. So thought I’d contribute with info and experience in case useful/interesting for others.

Build list:

- FM1306a XL in RAL 1015 (light ivory)
- XMCarbonspeed wheelbuild KAS930C 29er T800 on DT Swiss 350 with Sapim
- Fox step cast 32
- Formula cura brakes
- SLX cranks, rear mech, XT chain, BB
- ZRACE chainring
- Sunshine cassette 10-50
- BikeYoke Divine SL dropper
- Selcof bars
- ZTTO XC stem
- Barzo tyres
- Cheap, light Ali saddle
- Risk grips and seat clamp
- Ritchey headset
- XT pedals

Weight 9.68Kg including cage and Garmin mount.

Dealing with Wing at Carbonda was great - really helpful and quick communication. The frame and paint quality seems first-rate, can’t find any faults at all. Likewise Peter at XMCarbonspeed. And the wheels arrived with me in the UK about 10 days after I paid for them - super fast!

Most of the Ali stuff looks decent, albeit yet to ride. The Sunshine cassette seemed harder to index than it should have been. The bar plugs that came with the Risk grips broke when fitting them. Otherwise all looks good.

I replaced the top section of the headset that Carbonda supplied with a Ritchey 1,1/2 to 1,1/8, based on feedback on another thread.

I’ll chop off the rest of the steerer once I’ve dialled the position - I think the -20 degree ZTTO stem might be a bit too aggressive….

Very nice build! Are the golden elements a part of the painting or did you add some golden adhesive?

My frame is somewhere between China and here... I can't wait to  hold it in my hands. And then having a sleepless night.

Thanks. The gold bits are vinyl decals - good spot! I wasn’t 100% sure what to go with and so thought I’d experiment a bit. Actually a pretty close match to the kashima gold on the forks.

  it's getting serious..received the DPD tracking today.. so it's a matter of a couple of days.

The build is finished.
Easy riding fun bike.. no competition and no competitive riding. The exact height will be adjusted as soon I can handle the bike over. I expect that I can take out most of the spacers. 

Unfortunately the SID has malfunction in the lockout... I must go into communication with the shop. Guess it's just a matter of time to get that fixed.

Today I took the grips and put them to my 909 
I must order them again..  had some pain in the wrist, which is gone with this grips
