Author Topic: Those of you with separate aero bar/stem combo, what computer mount do you use?  (Read 896 times)

Hi y'all,

Looking to dial in my fit and a shorter reach bar/stem combo is in order. I'm currently using an integrated aero handlebar and like this setup, but I'm leaving open the possibility of using a separate aero bar and stem with internal routing. For those who run this kind of cockpit setup, what are you using for a computer mount?

Since the handlebar clamp style of mount won't be an option with many aero bars, I'm left wondering what are some of the nicer options for the stem bolt variety of mounts. If y'all have any suggestions I would really appreciate it!

I am running this for quite a few years now.

Works great but the spacer they provide is ABS which if you torque the bolt correctly it will get crushed and becomes kind of useless. I had to get some alloy ones made up and fixed the issue.

I have ordered another one (in red) and somehow that one came with an alloy spacer.

On all my previous bikes I always bought this or variations from eBay or Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Corki-Out-Front-Mount-Garmin-GoPro/dp/B07KPJDXZS/

However it’s not really stiff and you can easily bend it if you over tighten the bolts.

For my fresh build from scratch, for the first time I paid attention and spent time digging Aliexpress. Finally I bought these two.

Of the two above, Trigo seems to make some unique styled mounts. While the Blackbird is really slim retake on usual mounts. Still thinking which one to put on the bike but leaning towards Blackbird.

The Trigo one is 49g while Blackbird is 60g with bolts etc.

The Trigo seems unpractically short, and compensates with long screws.
They shoukd flex a lot with the vibrations when riding.

I use the OG-Evkin in carbon with titanium screws.

Almost pulled the trigger on ogevkin but I liked the looks of other two better. Let's see how that Trigo goes in real world. They have also sent a set of smaller screws though I think that will be cutting too close to fit Garmin 530.

That's the problem, yes.
And especially if you do very long rides, and want to charge mid-ride you need some room to plug the cable.
It will be interesting to see what you get.

I switched from a RiderAce Carbon mount (which was 100% terrible) to a TrustFire mount

Well thought out design.   I especially like how:
1) the action mount is set closer to the handlebar reducing leverage
2) the flashlight comes with a convenient toggle to lock/unlock the light from the mount

at 450lumen the light could be brighter though.  Totally fine for urban riding, or anywhere with street lamps.
Better than average - Extra Average

I'm very tempted to get this flashlight on account of how cute it looks.
On Amazon though, many reviews say it does not fit into standard GoPro style mount that most other computer mounts come with. May be it needs some filing or extra washers I don't know but it's definitely on my list. One seller on eBay is selling it for same price as Alix but with 4 day shipping from USA. Tempting.

An update on this. Since it was a surplus item I put it on my Specialized Roubaix with external cabling. The small screw set leaves no place for cables at all so I used the longer ones. 100~ miles or so yet but it's holding good without any vibrations that I could notice any way.
