Hi there, any updates on your repair and riding it? thanks!
Man, buying anything from SP-Cycle was a huge mistake and their so-called warranty is just a slap in the face and a bad joke. I'd hate to see others make the same mistake - it'll save them a ton of headaches, at least. Trying to communicate with them is like talking to a brick wall. They don't want to deal with you at all. The only thing they'll tell you is that you can fix it with a tap, even after I told them we already tried that and the threads didn't last long before completely stripping out. Turns out there was no material left to recut the threads and we later found out that the threaded insert laminated into the frame was cracked, so it had to be removed and replaced with a new one, then the whole rear end had to be re-laminated with the new insert.
The whole repair ended up costing me the equivalent of $175 USD and I haven't received any compensation from SP-Cycle to this day. They're playing dead, even though they sent me a frame with a damaged thread straight from the factory and don't even get me started on the fact that the frame is starting to crack under the seat post clamp. I haven't put that many miles on the bike yet. It's been nothing but trouble so far, but I'm hoping I can finally get some decent rides in next season. On the bright side, the bike is really light and flies like a rocket.
Sorry for not posting an update sooner, I've just had a lot of other stuff on my plate and totally forgot about this forum. But I hope my experience can help others avoid making the same mistake I did.
