Chainring w/ GXP bolts but Shimano 12s teeth?

(1/2) > >>

thebigmotorunit:
I bought a few of the cranksets on the link below and they have worked great, so far. However, o am looking to try and pair them with a shimano 12s cassette and am curious if anyone has found a 3 bolt GXP style chainring that works with a shimano 12s chain.

Many of the chainrings claim to work with 12 speed drivetrains. I've tried my direct mount Racework chainrings with 12 speed chains and they seem to work fine.

To clarify, I have one of the aforementioned cranksets working great on a sram eagle 12s cassette and chain, but shimano's 12s system claims to require specific chainring teeth to work with their 12s chains.

It's not Chiner, but North Shore Billet make Shimano style chainrings that fit on SRAM mount. A neat way to keep everything compatible without swapping cranks / being stuck with SRAM. I've been running one for a year with no issues.

Here's a few options, none of them are really budget pricing though.  First is the Wolf Tooth Components chainring (they have both oval and round chainrings):

https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/collections/mountain/products/direct-mount-chainrings-for-sram-cranks?variant=26132214021

Next is the oval chainring from Absolute Black:

Next is Alugear (both round and elliptical).  Unlike Wolf Tooth and Absolute Black that have specific teeth profiles, the Alugear chainrings are designed to work with both SRAM and Shimano chains.  If you're in the United States, you can purchase them cheapest here:

https://www.alugearsale.com/alugear-elm-narrow-wide-boost-chainring-for-1x-sram-3-bolt-direct-mount-sale/

Otherwise, you can purchase them from their company website or from r2-bike:

Last option I found is OneUp Components and their "Switch" chainring:

Hope this helps.
