which brand for 3 x frames?
« on: March 02, 2023, 12:50:34 PM »
Looking to burn up build kits on potentially 3 frames.
Key parts are I've 3 trunion shocks needing a home and at the least I'd like an XC build and a Trail Build
1 x Nude 165x45 (Spark)
1 x DPS 185x55 (Genius)
1 x X2 205x65 (ransom)
I figure there'll be a saving on shipping to do all 3 from the same supplier.

So, whats going to give me the best solution;
Carbonda (936+1001+1002) or
Lightcarbon (917 or 958 + 947 + skip the 205shock)

Speed of shipping to Canada might be the deal maker
Any other suggestions welcomed.

I went the light carbon route and have the 947 and 958.  I love both and can highly recommend.  i also have 2 other LC frames personally and one on the way plus 2 friends have the new XC bike as well.  i have had great experience with LC for both frames and rims.  they are my new go to for open mold frames.

the 936 takes 165x40 and you may not be able to sneak a 45mm shock in there.  the LC958 does make a really nice burly XC bike.  weight would be the only thing that keeps it from being a true XC machine.  you could sell the X2 and buy a shock for what ever pure XC bike you go with.
