reccomend me 380mm non-intergrated aero handlebar
« on: June 18, 2023, 09:07:32 AM »
Still running mechanical shifting and rim brakes, and have two bikes, one with OD2 fork so want bars only, so no integrated stem.

Want 380mm or slightly narrower at hoods. A small flare at drops is ok. Prefer 70mm reach.

Aero and stiff, previous experience with unbranded carbon bars, stand up to sprint on drops and felt the bar splay out, like a centimetre each side.

Searching AliExpress can only find the Fasterway https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004464102843.html that meets my criteria.

Anybody have experience with them? Or another recommendation?

There are a couple of od2 cockpits available..

What about this? In the  overview it's written  400mm for smallest size but if you look on the detailed spec you see it's 380mm.. the 400mm is valid on the drops, so you have the slight flare also.
Toseek store told me to look on firespider store. He/she told me they belong together but firespider has the superior quality.
However...i had a firespider cockpit (a different one) in my hands today. My impression was very good.

Just found this amazing item on AliExpress. Check it out! 140,61€  30%OFF | T1000 Carbon Fibre Bicycle Handlebar Black Road Bicycles Carbon Road Handlebar OD2 Integrated Carbon Handlebar With Stem 31.8mm

non integrated + stiff + narrow + cheap, you have aluminum. Wont be aero though. But i have a lot of friends who refuse riding carbon handlebars.
On aero, alu 36 or 38cm will probably make the whole system (you + bike) more aero than an aero 40cm bar. I dont think the drag of non integrated handlebars, given you have exposed cables anyway, matters too much. It would probably matter quite a bit with an integrated cockpit & full cable integration.
Fast on the flat. And nowhere else.

I've run this bar on my road bike for almost 2.5 years: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800581774460.html

It's nicely shaped, has external cable routing, measures about 38cm at the hoods, and is plenty stiff.

What I found so far:

Currently using Uno 380mm round alloy handlerbars, they are now also available in 360mm https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004667823835.html

If I want to go aero alloy, then 380mm Prime Doyenne from Wiggle https://www.wiggle.com/p/prime-doyenne-aero-handlebar more expensive and heavier probably 350g. Everything on AliExpress is wider 400mm and heavier over 400g

OE-EVKIN for CF round bars in 360 and 380mm https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001069341353.html

SERAPH 380mm at hoods, 400mm at drops, CF and aero https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000768089212.html

RYET 380mm at hoods and drops, CF and aero https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004789998307.html

ps should of mentioned that as a ride a smaller frame (prefer my weight over the front wheel) I end up running a longer stem, flipped (only a few degrees) so integrated bar and stem is really out. Would drop my bars by over 45mm, I do have limited flexibility  and could not ride a bike with 45mm of spacers (even if they would fit)

I just got a set of these: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004065727692.html?spm=a2g0o.store_pc_groupList.8148356.13.125e58d6WlOaer&pdp_npi=3%40dis%21NZD%21NZ%24%20277.45%21NZ%24%20194.22%21%21%21%21%21%4021038edf16875699224342016edf09%2112000027923381883%21sh%21NZ%21784578575

The 380mm ones are 360mm at the hoods and 380mm at the drops. I have only just installed them and haven't even had a chance to go for a ride yet but overall they seem nice enough.

Did you really spend 130+ USD on these? Can I ask why? it feels extremely overpriced, but i may be missing something?

I like these RXL bars. I'm running the flared version on both my 1x and 2x road bike. I find them stiff enough to handle out of saddle climbing and sprinting.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256803093583495.html

They come in 380mm with slight flare at the drops at 400mm or you can go extreme flare with 380mm and 458mm drops.

Yes, I did. They had the width and shape I wanted. If you can find me a better price for similar shaped bar I'll buy a set for my other bike.

I possibly should have purchased them from Alibaba for quite a lot less. Went with convenice and familiarity of Aliexpress though.

I think nickobec got some good options here. I'm running an OG-Evkin set for 2yrs now and the quality is really good, especially for the price. Unfortunately the aero models are all >400mm, if you want 380 you need to go round...
Ryet could be a great cost-effective option too, their quality is really good from what I here guys with Lexon/Ryet frames and parts comment out there

Toseek seems to have really good products, but I've seen some bad comments around (like Trace Velo breaking one of their bars), which leaves me apprehensive... maybe this Firespider can offer a smaller chance of issues, being their 'high quality' line

In your experience, do the internal routing holes on these bars fit both brake and derailleur housing? I'm considering an aero bar only if I can hide the cables through the tops section without bar tape.

I know it's not aliexpress, but these might fit the bill.

It’s so clearly a LARP of an aero bike.

Just realized I posted the same handlebar as your original post haha. Though to be fair I couldn't find anything else either.

The Carbon aero handlebar from Fasterway looks ideal, comes as narrow as 36cm, reviews say the internal finish is very clean (possibly used EPS molding?) with nice wide holes for internal routing. Even has space for a computer mount on the side of the stem. I'd go for it
