Well, i do read "typical flaws for chinese cheap frames"..

If every buyer starts escalating those tiny problems and ask for refunds, send back the frame of make it official on youtube how many small little things are lacking...
the producers will may start to rethink.
Currently , most buyers accept these little errors and invest their own resources...
if you let them get away with it, you will always have a lottery going, will your frame be produced by the best "worker" or the new one in the factory....lets be clear, most of us just get frames of 3rd or 4rd quality profiles in those factories.
Every factory nows exactly about the frame quality and the problems with each individual frame..they just choose to send it anyway, because we customers accept that...
We are also in the market for a tt frame for the next season....and seeing all these problems disqualifies VB as a supplier for us...

That sounds interesting.
Please take a photo of all the parts of the headset and then I can label them for you in order.

The fork steerer should be short enough so that the top cap does not (!) touch the compression plug.
It's just like the road bike, except that the stem is at a slight angle. You still have to cut the steerer straight.

The part I'm thinking about is the one drew a red line around, is this part really needed when I attach/tighten the top cover (green) towards the compression plug.
As you can see there is a standard bolt included, not a bolt that fits "good" in to the top cover (green).

Ah, I know what you mean. I didn't have a screw with a narrower head either. It's just a question of appearance.

And I didn't even have an additional top cap. And you don't need one. I've been riding it for 5,000 km now and have been able to adjust the headset well.

I also swapped the compression plug for a shorter one, which fitted better.

Don't forget to install the fork cone and the centering ring at the top.
