Any recent experiences with DIY Carbon?

I tried to search through here and other forums about recent experiences on dealing with them, most of the stuff I've come across is 3+years old, and not too helpful.  I just noticed that they have a warehouse/facility here in US, that definitely caught my attention.  I'm eyeballing their DCB F140 trail frame.  Wouldn't mind giving them a shot, just thought I'd reach out and see if anybody has dealt with them recently.

Why would you pay premium pricing for Chinese frame when you can simply buy direct from a bunch or recommended seller?

Their DCB F140 is just a Carbonda FM1001 but they claim different rear travel for the same shock sizes. Identical geo charts

Yeah, I noticed that, but DIY seems to have a branch and/or warehouse here in USA (GA amd Delaware) and some kind of footprint here in the country I live, so I was wondering if that would be a better option in terms of shipping times or post sale service/warranties.  Frame is still coming from china, just thought they could have the upper hand over Carbonda because of location.  The price of both frames is almost identical at about $1,000-ish shipped…

About a year ago, I bought a some carbon rims from them...everything seemed fine until I decided to convert them to tubeless.  The rims would leak air from the insertion point of the valve stem, the spoke nipples, and a number of locations on the rim itself.  It is exceedingly porous.  If you are going to use tubes only, then you may be fine.  They are very light, and role quickly.

Where they tubeless ready from factory or did u try to convert them to tubeless yourself from scratch?  Tape, valve and all that?

I got a DCE XCE29 and a set of carbon wheels from them at the end of June this year. The wheels arrived pretty fast but the frame took a while. I think it showed up on the 5th of September, 5 or 6 weeks after the order was palced.
There was an issue with the seat tube of the frame. The seat post could only be inserted to about 130mm - full insertion length should be 255mm. I sent a note to Ty, never got an answer. There was something sticking out in the tube that would not allow the post to be inserted beyond that depth.
Finally I took a 1" round pine dowel glued some sandpaper on it and sanded down the thing that was sticking out.

Also one of the screws holding on to the cable guide inserts (not sure what is the correct name for those) were cross threaded by the factory and it took an hour to extract from the frame.
The holes on the inserts at the head tube were also too small for the cables to fit through so I had to enlarge them on both sides.

This added to the build time but other than that I'm pretty happy with the purchase.

Would I buy this frame again: no. There are better options out there but I did not know about this forum at the time of the order. My biggest issue with it is the 27.2 seat tube diameter, dropper post choices are limited for that size.
Would I do business with DIYCarbon again: I like the website and I like that the prices are listed and clear - no 'inquire us' BS. So I may...

A linkt to a picture of the bike - sorry I could not insert the original for some reason. The Bolany fork fell apart during the shakedown ride. I fixed it but then after about 100miles it developed a clunking noise. Took it apart only to find that one of the bushings in the left side came lose. I replaced with a real Ohlins fork. Bolany Shined: do not recommend.
