Guys, did you buy the frame on aliexpress or on the website? what is the best way?
And did someone buy the frame with the handlebar? is the handlebar good or should we chose a third party handlebar/cockpit?

I bought the frame set on the SPcycle website. The communication was sparse, but they answered to my mails. Shipping was quite fast and I had an error in my address, which was corrected immediately after I told them via Mail.

I also have the handlebar, but I am still waiting for my groupset to arrive, so I can’t give any feedback yet. My first impression (this is my first carbon handlebar though) is good. No optical imperfections, clear coat is nice and even. The flex is higher compared to my Aluminium bar.

My frame arrived today! I ordered on 25th of April, shipping started on 7th of May and it arrived today on the 21st of May. My first impression is really good, the paint job is flawless. I opted for a frame in size 56 in metallic matte 3 (purple) including the handlebar.

I hope I can finish the build next week, still waiting for a Elilee X310 with XCadey and a 105 group. The current weight seems ridiculous, coming from a aluminium gravel bike  ;D

Is there anything specific to keep in mind, like the Di2 battery „issue“, or anything I should check on the frame?

Nice! did you get any tariffs? considering it's such a big box, the customs might not let it slip through right?

Today I took my bike on a spin on a nice sunny day and it rode perfectly. I'm using 30c tires right now, but my other wheelset is on my favorite 25c tires. I'm trying to get used to larger tires, but for the way I ride I really do prefer narrow slicks!

Also I seriously need to try a real Specialized SL8 and compare it to the R088. I know a guy who's a mechanic at the LBS, so maybe I'll ask if I can take one on a spin in order to compare the two!

No taxes, duties or tariffs on any of my stuff from China to me (Central Europe) so far.
I have no idea how they are doing it, I important one MTB frame from the US back in the days and I had to pay VAT + bicycle specific tax (even depending on the actual type of part, e.g different tax rate for forks, frames, cranks, …). I just payed 140 USD shipping + import duties to SP, independent from the actual frame value. Same with the wheelset, 120 USD ea. for two different valued wheel sets.

I encountered this problem. The bolt won't tighten any further, I don't want to damage the already bad thread even more. No idea what to do now. I don't have any thread cutting tools.

It would be very interesting to have a comparison with SL8....keep us updated!  ;)

I took the frame to be painted and so I can't help you....what I noticed instead is that the front thru axle is a bit hard to screw in: has anyone noticed the same thing?
It will probably be enough to apply a bit of grease to solve the problem, but before risking ruining the thread I'll ask you too, thanks!

About grease: since this is my first experience in frame assembly, what type of grease do you recommend for the headset, bottom bracket, thru axles, seatpost clamp?
Many have suggested white lithium grease, in some video tutorials instead I saw that they use pink/red or green grease...which one do you suggest?
Thanks

I'm by no means an expert but I had similar issues with my G056/RF25. I used a wing screw to chase the thread an i also used better screws than the ones that came with the calipers, in order to minimize the risk of stripping the screws.

I'd also double check if the rotor isn't true. I have a truing disc rotor tool that does wonders! In fact I have 3 different wheelsets, on 2 bikes that all run true! My disc alignment game is rock solid!
What tool is this? Do you have a link?
Thanks

It's most likely paint over spray on the threads. Back out the bolt, clean the bolt threads, apply plenty of grease to the thread and screw in again. Repeat the steps but each time you are turning the bolt that little bit more (maybe quarter to half turn) until it's all the way in. It shouldnt take long to do.
