Looking for Endurance Frame w UDH and 40mm Tire Clearance
« on: January 02, 2025, 11:06:46 AM »
Hello everyone,

I have been searching for an endurance frame with a higher stack and shorter reach, about ~1.5 stack to reach ratio, head tube angle of 72 - 73 degrees, and tire clearance for 40 - 42mm tires. Ideally it would be UDH compatible as I would like to run an xplr setup on it.

The closest thing I have found is the CFR 505-SL but the seat clamp is a little off putting and the the frame looks dated. I heard it does ride well though.

Are there any other frames out there or upcoming frames that would fit these specifications. I am essentially looking for something like the Enve Fray, BMC Roadmachine, or Ridley Grifn RS.

Thanks for your help.

I am surprised you didn't mention bus like aerodynamics hahaha

but in all seriousness I looked into FM301 but
1) The chainstay is 410mm which means it can't run a xplr group set - nvm it can with a 45mm chain line
2) The tire clearance is 38 and I would like to be able to run a set of Caracal Race 40 or P Zero 40
3) The stack is still low for me with a ratio of ~1.43 and ideally the wheel base would be >1000 at a size 54

Why not get a gravel bike?

Honestly I would if it had a ~72 degree head angle like the Crux or Aspero. Any recommendations?

The CS-GR01 ticks a lot of boxes in terms of what I have been looking for. I bought a set of wheels from Peter and he was great to communicate with.

The only thing I am wondering about is sizing as I am between the L and M - 180cm with 84cm inseam, proportional arms and longer torso. Pinarello recommended the 530 vs 550 for the grevil. I am going to get a bike fit in the next few months and if it recommends the 550 I will likely go with the CS-GR01 since on the L the head angle is 71.75.

Thanks for your reply

Mine is an XL; I'm 178cm with fairly long legs.  Could probably have gotten away with a size L but was concerned I'd end up with too much saddle to stem drop.  Will probably take out 1-2 stem spacers at some point to lower the front end.
