Gravel frame recomendation for a shortie
« on: June 09, 2025, 10:50:21 AM »
Hi there!, I'm new here, I was reading posts the last days about a few gravel frames but I still cannot choose so I decided to ask directly.
I'm looking for an all road/gravel frame with the latests standards (internal routing cables, t47, UDH hanger) and also frame storage.
The use will be road and gravel (planning to buy another set of wheels). The gravel in my area is pretty rough so I need a minimum of 40mm tires to be comfortable.

I narrowed the search to 3 frames:
-Tideace FM-GV201
-Yoeleo Altera g21
-ICAN GRA04

The problem here is that I'm pretty short (163cm) so the Tideace seems pretty big for me, even with a 60mm stem.
The Yoeleo seems like a good option since they make it in size 45, but is also the most expensive, (plus I'm not a big fan of champagne color)
And then the ican looks like a good option, but I'm not sure if they sell it B2C because is not in the web "icancycling" only in "icanbikes" (I did't try so send them a request yet)

I'm open to sugestions, I'm new on chinese carbon and I bet there are many brands that I didn't consider.

Thanks in advance!

I’m the same height so from experience, pay close attention to the seat tube length. The shorter the seat tube, the more seatpost out the frame generally the better the bike looks, and shouldn’t feel too big when you ride it. My road bike is a Pinarello Dogma F size 43 (length of seat tube) so lots of seatpost out and it looks right.

For Chinese bikes look at the sloping frame designs like Seraph/TanTan (can’t remember model numbers but you’ll see the one). The SP Cycle G069 looks like it should work (45cm seat tube) but given it’s a clone of the canyon Grail who would say the XS is too big I’m not sure.

I bought an ICAN Graro size 49cm/XS and it’s too big. The seatpost sits on the bottle bosses and would need cutting to make fit for someone so small. It would look like the saddle is on the top tube. The ICAN Graro is based on the Scott Addict Gravel geometry (which are considered larger than their stated size) so that rules out others similar like the BXT 135 Gravel which is another Addict gravel inspired frame.

The Elves Mori AeroX looks to be a good shout with a very short seat tube but it’s a racier geometry than most.

A grevil clone could be an option as pinarellos sizing is generally excellent for short people but I don’t recommend clones on principle… OEM designs are a different matter.

To add, the frame from light carbon that hambini showed on his channel doesn’t go small enough and same for the new Velobuild AeroGrav - shame for both of them as their road bikes go a lot smaller.

Thanks for the recommendations, the Elves Mori seems a very good option, and they have a distributor in Spain. It's missing the in-frame storage but I think I can give up that. Some people complain about the max tyre clearance but I think 45 it's more than enough, if I need more I will take my MTB

I have an ICAN GRA04 Frame. So its possible to get one. But I've heard from other whom asked for it, and were not able to buy one. I dont now why they sell it to normal customers sometimes, and sometimes not. But you can give it a try. But I have to warn you. It took ICAN more than 3 month to deliver it (simple 2 colored custom paint job), and the storrage in the downtube is just a hole with a cover. You have to build/3D print something to use it properly. Otherwise everything you put in there will fall down to the BB.

Sounds like you have a similar take to me on tyre clearance. 45mm is more than adequate and all this hype around using MTB tyres but the riders creating the hype don’t seem to be beating all the riders on gravel tyres.

Ican is a great manufacturer, their Graro is excellent quality. I’ve made an enquiry about the GR04 to see if I can get one in the UK.

The quailty of the GRA04 frame is excelent. Same for the integrated cockpit, the fork and the seatpost.

Yeah I read about your experience on the other topic, that's why I have finally decided to go with the Elves Mori.
I bought also their handlebar together (50% discount). They contacted me today and it will take 3-4 weeks to manufacture + 2-3 weeks delivery. Let's see how it goes!

Thanks again for the recomedations!
