BLDG 29er for 800?

Hello guys,

Was wondering if it would be possible to build a decent 29er with 057 frame for under 800?  Im not racer just a weekend warrior so don't need anything crazy.  Just want something fun and reliable. Wanting to upgrade from my Walmart mongoose lol

I live in Miami so it is mostly flat trails with small hills and other obstacles like stairs, rocks, etc

I think $800 is possible if you have some donor components to swap from another bike, or buy a lot of bits used.  If you want to buy everything new, you can probably get close to $1000 and probably come in around 25 or 26 pounds with a Deore groupset and decent wheels.  It depends on how long you want to look around for good deals.  You can always upgrade the wheels or components later, and the 057 will be a huge step up from a mart bike.

How much does the 057 cost?  Because on the website it does not list the price.

Also where would i be able to look to see everything that i need to order to piece this bike together. 

Found this build from someone else. What can i change here to stay under 1k and still have a good bike. I don't care for carbon wheels as they are too much so maybe some decent aluminum will suffice

Seatpost: Bontrager racelite (had it laying around)
Seat: Bontrager Evoke (laying around)
Bottom Bracket: SRAM GXP?? Not sure about this one
Crank: SRAM X1 11 speed
Cassette: SRAM XO1 loaner off of other bike
Pedals: Shimano XT
Wheels: Bontrager Rhythm Elite borrowed off of Trek Fuel
Tires: We'll see how the mood strikes..
Chain: SRAM 11 speed
Chainring: Wolftooth 30T
Rear axle: Chiner brand, will order with bike

Most carbon hard tail frames are around $400, building a new bike with new parts for $800 is not likely.  If you already have a fork and wheels, then possibly you can only spend another $400 for the rest of the parts.

Since everyone chooses different parts for their build, you are not going to find a specific list of parts needed.  It's entirely up to you what you want on your bike.  Frankly, if you are not able to figure out what parts make up a complete bike, attempting to build a bike yourself may not be for you.  Beyond the parts, you are going to need other equipment, tools, and lubricants to do a proper build.
