29+ & 27+ / Re: 27.5+ FS Frame Options
« on: July 13, 2017, 10:38:33 PM »
I am in the same boat as you in looking for a full suspension + bike.  couple things i would add to your list.

FS27 -
- it does not use a trunnion shock it is just upside down.  any regular shock that is 165x38 will fit.

Dengfu-
- the Geo is the same as the M06 frame.  all they have done is create a boost spaced rear end.  i emailed them about this frame as to me it seems like the best option.

-i think a lot will come down to the geo.  all the designs have been proven by some name brand manufacturer so i would not worry about that.  like the flex stays of the FS27 and FM006.
-the 165x38 shock is a pretty common XC bike shock size so i would not really count that as a con unless the travel that it provides is not what you are looking for and then that pretty much should rule out that frame anyways.
-you have both XC and AM head angles as pros, that tells me you may want to look at what you want the bike to do.  those are kind of mutually exclusive riding segments.  find out what you do more of and go with that frame.
-the P9 is listed as OEM old so not sure if Joe Public can buy this.  something to look into.

just my thought

cheers

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Chinese hubs?
« on: June 17, 2017, 08:58:35 PM »
I know this a bit of an old thread but i have 3 sets of Chosen hubs and all have been going great.  I am 250lbs out of the shower and i have had no issues.  Going on my second winter third summer on the oldest set and not one issue.  they are also pretty light.  comparable to DT Swiss.  I have purchased all of mine from DengFu but they are available on eBay as well.

Best of all they are super affordable.  they run about $120/set.

29+ & 27+ / Re: 2017 27+ Dengfu FM006 (Scott Spark RC 900)

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread.  i just spoke with Melody last night about this frame.  the front triangle is the same as the M06, it is just the rear that is different.  i wanted to know if it would work with a regular 29er and she said yes.  the geo is also the same just with boost spacing at the back.

29+ & 27+ / Re: Anyone 29+ a china Fatbike frame ?

I have the Dengfu F190 and i have a set of both 29+ and 27.5+ wheels.  At 6ft and 245lbs i much prefer the 29+ wheels.  i am running the WTB Ranger 3.0 on there now.  so far everythign is working great.

Fat Bikes / Re: 18.7lb fatty

I know this is old but i am pretty sure the frames they use are the same as the DengFu FM190.  they geo is identical and the chart even looks identical.  i looked at the Lamere but i could get an entire bike by going with the FM190 over the Lamere with the same geo numbers.
