I bought 2 frames from Winow. The other 2 are Long teng. I prefer the LT, but they're very similar. If I have to nitpick, The LT had better BB tolerances (one of the Winow frames, the BB on 1 frame got in too easy compared to the other 3 frames), the Winow seatpost is too thin to house the er9 battery (irrelevant to you, but pretty annoying).
They're all fine though. Havent ridden the Winow ones, but i doubt i could tell the difference. My friends are happy but it's still winter and they havent ridden much. The geometry is a bit more aggressive on the winow, but that's irrelevant to your situation.
They're bomb proof aero frames for c.80kg dudes, basically.

Love the tractor frame :D which model is that?

After The Ride / Swapping hubs on a mid-depth road carbon wheelset
« on: October 01, 2022, 10:04:42 PM »
Hi all,

I have 2 carbon disc road wheelsets, one running DT350s and the other 370s (thru axle, centrelock) I would like to swap the hubs over. One wheelset is running DT Swiss spokes and alloy nipples, the other is on Pillar 1420 and Sapim Polyax alloy.

I know you can swap the internals, but for certain extraneous reasons I can't do that. To the best of my knowledge the hub shells are exactly the same dimensions so I think it should be a straight swap, and there won't be a need to change spokes.

I have access to a truing stand and nipple wrench, but not a spoke tension gauge at this point.

Would you guys have any advice on best practices to pull this off? Wouldn't want to ruin either wheelset.

Thank you all!

Would be keen to hear about these $220 wheels you've ordered :)

Hi Peter,

You mentioned that the rim is 125 USD/piece. And the R5026TL disc brake rims 24/24H built with carbon spokes, high end 36T rachets straight pull hubs, 1315g/pair, 2 years warranty, sale price- 625 USD/pair

So that's almost US$375 if we take US$625 mins US$250 (for rim). Trying to figure out where the cost goes to.  There is no detail on the hub but the mention of 36T rachets suggest it's a DTSwiss clones, could you provide more details so that we can see the value of the product.

Example - Carbon type , Hub Type and brand, Bearing type, brands, size. Spokes brand, details .  Could you provide close up photos of nipples, rim, spokes, etc.

I recently ordered a pair of Carbon wheelset (6 pawls) from Kung for US$220/= , excluding shipping. I'm sure yours are of better quality but I would appreciate if you could provide details.

Do you have additional discounts for members here ?

Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Carbonda Gravel CFR505 build

Hello carbonazza!

I am presently thinking of getting this frame, now that it's available again. Predominantly planning to run 30-32mms on there, but appreciate the option to go wider should the need arise. Looking to a Shimano 52-36 crankset and Ultegra mechanical hydros for the build. Do you think this would this work well in that configuration?

Also curious to hear if the frame has held up well!

Thanks,

Looks great everyone! May I ask how is the tyre clearance like?

Adding an option for external cabling (going in the down tube instead of through stem) would make other handlebars useful.

Would strongly agree with having an option for external cable routing. Even just having the simple plate cover /Di2 port / cable port option present on other frames would be a big benefit for me. I've personally turned down many frames due to being forced to go full internal.

I mean, how hard can it be? Just cut a few holes, mount a few cable ports, and you've suddenly greatly increased your market size :) eg. the Carbonda CFR 1056 offers the option to route internal/external, and the last I've heard, everyone's happy with how their cables are run.

Dear Friend, pre-order price 518usd, Shipping cost is not included. thank you

Hi there, I'm interested in this frame too. Does this price include the handlebars?

Really nice builds! I mean no offence, but I was just curious if you get any unwanted attention/comments from other riders for riding a Pinarello-inspired frame. Personally I think the bikes look fantastic, and I'd be glad to have one. Just wanted to know if you received any negative comments because of this. Thanks :)

just curious, is anyone running this as a gravel bike? The 1056 appeals to me as a frame that could double up as a road or gravel bike (perhaps with 2 sets of wheels), and I was wondering if I'm correct in this assessment.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, will look into them!

Thank you both for the advice, I really appreciate it :) The LBS was telling me the problem was with the rim, which I had a hard time believing.

Hey there everyone, I recently picked up a pair of hooked carbon wheels with an 18mm internal/25mm external width rim. I've been trying to set them up tubeless with 28mm Continental GP5000 TLs but for the life of me they will not seal, and keep leaking air from the tyre around the valve area.

Lightcarbon have told me these rims are tubeless ready but the LBS is suggesting that this is not the case. They believe that due to the narrow internal diameter, when the tyre is inflated, it is lifting the valve out of place, causing the leak. Has anyone had this issue before? If so can you comment on how to fix this? I am going crazy trying to fix this, any help is appreciated! Thank you very much!!

Hey everyone,

My question as in the title above. Appreciate all recommendations from you all! Cheers!

14
these seem like a lot of fun! Not so convinced about the carbon spokes though. How are they holding up over there?

15
bit of a noob question but how do you build/service a wheel without access to the nipples? Thank you :)

Yo,

I mounted a rear 27.5+ wheel.
DT Swiss 180 ceramic hub 12x148
Pillar X-tra 1420 spokes
Chiner 27.5+ carbon rim, without holes in rim bed  8)

Mounted with a Schwalbe Nobby Nic 3.00" => complete rear wheel + 400g
It fits perfectly.

It sucks the road when climbing.
But it rides sooooooo good on technical downhill.
Definitely the rear wheel that I will bring most of the time in the mountains trails.
The front tire will be replaced by a Maxxis Assegai => +300g

The 29x2.35 will only be mounted for light bikepacking or fast rolling events.
