Re: Velobuild VB-R-177 Well, this was a shock. My frame got shipped on the 13th and this morning has been delivered to my house in the UK so 3 days shipping and no import charges! It was using EMS HK.
Obviously the first thing to do was to weigh everything. It's a size 54 - M clear coat paint.

Frame (with derailleur hanger, FD mount, bottle cage screws, seat post clamp, grommets) = 1039g
Fork uncut = 384g
Seat post with all fittings = 211g
Handlebar (400 width, stem 100) = 311g

Everything looks very neat and tidy - can't wait to put it all together.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177 I finished my VB-R-177 build yesterday. With Shimano 105 and DT Swiss 470 rims on Prime hubs, it's not super-light, coming in at 7.5kg.

Issues:
- the handlebar channels for concealed cables are very tight
- very difficult to mount the headset assembly with concealed cables and avoid headset play
- matt back paint is not even across the whole frame

Other than that, I'm pretty happy. This is my training bike, not for racing.

Re: Carbonda CFR 1056 or VeloBuild 177? I'm on a VeloBuild VB-R-168 right now for road and have a 177 on order as I also want to compare the stiffness.

Re: Elves Falath EVO 2023
I decided to order the frameset + wheelset + handlebar, size 61cm for me + custom paint, I'll be building the bike with ultegra di2 12s I can't wait for it, I've DMed some guys on instagram that have already ridden the bike (Elves' insta repost their stories) and for now only positive things about the bike being really stiff, one guy said it felt way better than his Scott Addict. Found some videos of the Evo builds :

The paintjob and finishes look really nice so I can't wait to receive mine !

Those builds look super nice! What I find funny is that you'll find these bike build videos from SE Asia that use properly calibrated tools (one video was using a digital torque wrench for the BB) and select high end components to build up their Chinese bike frames. Then you'll see some half ass build videos from the UK, buying the crappiest parts from AliExpress and then proclaim the components, frames, etc. are cheap rubbish!

Re: Unreadable Topic: "VeloBuild Headset Play Issue" Hi everyone - We wanted to share a quick update and let you know we have been listening to your feedback and have designed a new c ring. The new design has a small cut out that allows for a better grip on the steerer to take place once the headset is compressed.

For those that are having issues, please get in touch at info@velobuild.com so we can sort you out with a newly designed c ring. For those that are still using the original or second design without issue, please know you can continue using them without concern!

Going by the impeccable quality of my DogmaF from ali,

Do you have a build thread to share?

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 If you look hard enough you'll find horror stories about any brand.
Carbonda is one of the builder that has high quality products and service.
Sometimes bad luck strikes, but they generally stand behind their products.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame
For all of you please remember to unscrew the mounts where the Thru-Axles are mounted and screw them back in with threadlocker.

On my second ride, the rear bracket fell out at 45 km / h because the screw has loosened. The back wheel began to vibrate as hell but i was able to recover the bike without a crash.

You mean putting threadlocker on the tiny little screw that's off center the thru axle? if so, it is a must indeed. There have been reports of people losing that screw.
When i see a thread, i usually wonder: lithium or loctite? I like my girls wet and my threads lubricated.

Glad you didnt die!
