Thank you RoadieMKD for reply.

I've contacted Elitewheels via Aliexpress app and they said if i use "Sellers Shiping method" (pay more 75,98€) then i will not pay VAT and also the delivery is faster. Yes, i have a discount code that will save 120$ on orders over 599$, so in total i'll pay 505,3$ for this 65mm wheelset (aniversary discont sale included).

About tires.. Rear i use 28mm tire, in front i have 25mm, continental gp5000 (not tubeless, i'll use RideNow TPU superlight innertubes). This Elite Edge rim width is 28mm, can i use my 25mm tire on this rim with no problems?

25mm GP5000 non TL works perfect on the edge rims. It measures 27.4mm on that rim (which would be perfered aero-wise compared to the 28mm, which might measure closer to 30 and bulge out on the rim)

mounting the GP5000 25mm is also no problem. No need for tire lever when mounting and removing (I also use TPU tubes)

Good question.
I would also add Thinkrider to that list, as they often sell very cheap in the "3 for 4.99$" section.

However, my personal experience is limited to the old Ridenow 36g (black valve stem) and they were flawless. With the 19g Ridenow (transparent valve stem), I had one flat, but that would have been a flat with any tube.

Thanks, so the new plastic/injection moulded compression ring for the SL8 fits in the 268?
no, does not fit.
you either gotta buy a new top headset bearing (with the same ID as the SL8) or you gotta lathe or sand down the SL8 compression ring to make it fit.
and you might also need quite a few microspacers as well.

But you can also stick with the setup that VB supplies, people don't seem to have these issues anymore.

Hi!
Fairly close to pulling the trigger on the 268. Does anyone know if the expander plug and compression ring design is identical to the recalled one on the SL7?

No, its velobuilds own design. (if that's a good or a bad thing, that's up for you to judge. I used a Deda 70mm Expander and a modified compression ring from the SL8 on my VB)

Thanks to all of you!
For any future projects: is there a way to prevent this from happening?
I already used a guide (from AliExpress  ;D ) . The cut itself was very good and offcourse i already was quite careful.
Now i sure will do some cutting tests with the left over piece of the steerer tupe.

you can prevent these tearings on the outside by cutting a millimeter deep circle around the whole steerer.
And simply cut without much force and make sure when you almost finish the cut that the two parts don't "break" apart

Yea the TFSA is out. Leaning towards the SP Cycle Aeroad copy. Partially because my other open mold is labeled "CANDY" and this being a Canyon copy could get the same font and do "Candy" on the downtube.

yeah, go for that SPcycle! would be really interested in your opinion on it!  :)

Winspace?

Great investigation ;)

You know if they will offer a zero-offset Seatpost?

Has anyone tried the Darevie Aero baselayer (Rule 28 inspired)?

Looks quite interesting, but the sleeves seem a bit too long to be worn under a short sleeved jersey.

You have to wait a really good offer from elite wheels and also coupon from Aliexpress. During 11.11 there were 100 USD coupons.

Yes, thats exactly how it went. 11.11 coupons + coins + the usual tax adjustment (-19% at Checkout)

I will give a try with this one :

Anyone here tried it?

Yes, I ride this one in the 380mm version of this bar, measures 370 on the hoods and 390 on the drops. Exact replica of the Vision Metron bars (some sellers also do the grphics, lol).

Plenty stiff on my 1200W sprints and no issues so far, but I only done 1000km so far on it

I'm not sure how this will work out. There is no guiding for mechanical shifting. I assume you need to route the cables through the handlebar and the whole frame to the exit points. That will probably lead to a poor shifting performance, if it works at all.

Thats basically how its done on all fully-integrated mechanical builds. Not optimal nor hassle free, but works...

Hi guys,
took some time to build the bike mainly because I was missing components and because of lack of time. However, the weather here is anyway still too bad to ride it outside.

Bike weighs 7.3 kg including pedals and wahoo mount. Only the bottle cages are missing...so pretty much spot on 7kg without.

Only things that I still need to work on are:
- fine tune the shifting
- check if I like the brakes or if I swap them to the stock ltwoo ones. I like the silver look of the zrace but they still feel a little spongy compared to the ultegra brakes on my old bike. Maybe I just need to re-bleed them again, let's see.

The build-process was generally pretty simple. The only issue I had was that I needed tro drill out the whole for the di2 cable in the chainstay as it was not properly drilled inside.  I think there were some sharp edges inside so the cable didn't want to go through. The rest was straightforward.

I will wait with my first ride until we have dry conditions here  :)

Future updates to arrive at around 7kg ready to ride might be a lighter cassette (I use a 105 11-32 right now), lighter chain and maybe 140 rotor in the back.

What wheels are those? Do I read DuraAce? But i havent seen DA wheels in that finish...

From last year, i dont think I posted these.
Very nice frame, wants to go fast, and compliant / elegant. Wheels that deep in a cross wind in the mountains though... meh.

Wrong thread... -> 168
