Re: Lightcarbon: New LCR017-D (or Yishun R1058-D)
My issue that stops me buying is that I run most of my bikes 1 X and I'd want to remove hanger.  They tell me this is difficult (it looks like Allen Key on their web pictures but I'm presuming it's actually riveted).

The same hanger is on my R086D and I was able to immediately remove it upon delivery. I'm also running a 1x setup.
2mm and 2.5mm bolts don't require much torque so you should be able to remove it.

After a few exchanges with Yishun, it seems the main reason they are reluctant to offer frames to the general public is to avoid overstepping their agreement with 3rd party brands who may have ordered (or in part developed) frames and are charging double the price.

Re: Goldix/Evosid Dimpled Crankset
Could be much worse, i.e. Xpedo

Seriously, I sometimes choose AliEx components on whichever has the better name even if they're exactly the same. For example Goldix, Zeroing and Racework all sell the same 1x chainring. I opted to go for the Racework chainring just because the name wasn't weird sounding!

Re: Elitewheels Edge wheelset I had a set of these in my workshop for a while. I built a V-BR099 with these for a friend. See the dedicated thread for photos. I measured them to have a consistent inner width of 21.3-21.5. Outer width maxes out at roughly 30mm slightly below the rim edge IIRC.
I just did a ride with my friend yesterday where he rode these wheels. Nothing bad to say really. They’re stupendously light for a wheelset that deep and that cheap. I measured the spoke tension to be perfect throughout. They were absolutely true. I did specifically recommend them to him bc of the great value for money. The freehub is the loudest I ever heard. It can be quietened with a bit of grease or oil I guess.

So they’re great is all I can say. He’s only done around 200km with these. So no long term experience obviously.
And: They’re painted in matte black. Wouldn’t be my cup of tea, personally. I like my wheels to have the carbon visible.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Sensah hydraulic gravel groupsets now available.

Looks to be a new rear derailleur with these sets too.

Re: Puncture proof Continental Gatorskin tyres any good? As mentioned by BalticSea, Pirelli Cintirato are great for puncture resistance. A much better option imo. Better puncture resistance and much faster rolling tyres than Gatorskins. I have also heard from club members, that Gatorskins are terrible in the wet.

Re: Puncture proof Continental Gatorskin tyres any good? If you hate riding, they're great. If you enjoy riding, use almost anything else. Even today's race-ready tyres (GP5000, Pirelli P Zero etc.) score well on puncture resistance tests, and then if you're going further down that route, try something like a Pirelli Cinturato or a GP5000 AS.

It's worth considering tubeless as well for additional protection.

Re: Best TPU tube brand I think Offbondage wins, purely on a name basis. Imagine the flex of telling everyone you run offbondage tpu tubes. Five stars.
