ZRace RX crankset - broken After ~3000km, they've decided to die.  I've not been particularly gentle or rough on them, used them like I would any crankset - rain or shine, road or gravel.  I was on my trainer with them just starting my session and it gave way at 350 watts, something like that.

Re: ZRace RX crankset - broken
That could've caused a major wipeout on the road/trail.
Is this more likely to be a design flaw, or low quality alloy issue?

Need an expert to chime in.

Some closeups.

Re: ZRace RX crankset - broken
I wouldn't go as far as expert but I have a little bit of knowledge of this kind of things. If you could get some good close up photos of the two faces if you can get them apart that might be helpful. Make sure to indicate which side is the pedal side.

Non-drive side.  Had to grab a monkey wrench to bend the piece off- you can see where I just broke it off.  Aluminum shavings probably from me trying to get pedal off - pedal extender threads are perfectly fine.

Before anybody says it first- it's time to cut my nails.   ;D

Re: Currently riding a Spur...Looking for a dedicated XC race bike. FM909 or?
ouch, how did that happen? i've just ordered it  ??? ???

Don´t really know. Was on my hometrail, which is not very hard and on a small ascent it cracked with a loud sound.

Re: yuananbike forged gravel wheels That's a purely cosmetic layer on top of the UD rim.  Forged carbon is a stupid marketing term anyway, it just refers to a molded (instead of laminated layers) thermoplastic composite with bits of carbon in it.

It adds weight.  In this case it's just a few large strands of UD carbon suspended in what looks like a pretty thick coat of gloss finish resin.  I'd guess it adds minimum 30g and perhaps as much as 40g per rim.  Looks cool though.

Re: Miracle / MIRA FS822 Mini update. I picked up the final part (dropper) last night. I was hoping to use the dropper from my Airwolf hardtail but it is stuck - my first time as a victim of alloy post corroding in a carbon frame!

Order of little bits (BB; centerlock / 6 bolt adapters) from ZTTO arrived in less than a week.

Decals and wrap added to frame and cables/ hoses are routed.

Shock is fitted. The hardware was a bit of work. The shock reducers are listed as 8*22mm but the front one did not fit - I filed it down to ~21.7mm and it's in. The BB is fitted - no issues at all with the threads. As I get to know the frame, I am impressed with the quality.

I'm aiming to build the bike this week, and hope to have a 'shakedown' and first proper pics and report this weekend. I'm excited to finally ride it and do the 'big reveal'!

Re: Epic Evo Clone
maybe I missed it. How much lighter is the frame after removing the paint?
For 120 grams.

Re: Epic Evo Clone
My frame arrived without a hole for an internal dropper cable. Has anyone else had this happen, and/or how to handle this if I want an internal cable -- break out a drill?

Lol! How is that possible? They surely didn’t give you a new mold cast with no port available. Feed the cable from seat tube over the bb shell, and out the triple hose port on the left.
