Title: XD Drivers?
Post by: Crash217 on December 12, 2023, 01:21:01 PM
Its coming time to do some free-hub work on my 2019 Specialized Epic.  Are there any quicker engaging AliEx XD freehubs that will drop into the stock roval wheels with sram/formula hubs?   It uses a plain 3 pawl system.

I don't think I've ever seen freehubs that fit certain hubs but not made by the manufacturer, they are hub specific. Plus the engagement on a pawl hub is determined by the number of teeth on the drive ring inside the hub shell.

I figured that would be the case.   Would be nice if Specialized at least made parts lists/diagrams easy to find so I could order up some parts without having to go 30 minutes to their shop.

roval hubs = dt swiss no? likely you can match it with the right DT Swiss freehub body by examining the look of your roval hub and identifying which DT hub it corresponds to.

My hub has no distinctive markings, stampings or other features.  I can't find any dimensional specs anywhere that would allow me to pick through parts bins for cross referencing.
