Re: Chinese Santa Cruz/AM831
Has anybody actually gotten and built one of these? There are tons of posts about it but nobody seems to actually have one. I would really like to buy one but without reading from someone else that there aren't serious issues with it, I am apprehensive. Thanks in advance!

Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread!
In general they can do any color you want, as long as you provide the right Pantone or RAL reference. I requested a specific pantone color and was told by Eddy they could not, in fact do that. Only the 14 colors provided in the photo. I am therefore getting raw carbon and getting it painted myself. May 30, 2021, 12:49:26 PM |

Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread!
I have a fox 36 fork at 150 mm and a fox dpx 2 (also 150 mm with the given spec). I am about to order a shimano xt 1x12 groupset for the drivetrain but literally the only thing holding back (as a first time bike builder) is whether or not to order a bottom bracket, and if not, if this groupset will be compatible with the provided bb. If anyone knows, please lmk!

Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread!
I think they should be just around the corner. Got a quote from another seller on alibaba who said the frame would be on my doorstep in 1 month if I ordered today.

Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread!
Fork - 2021 Fox 36 Factory Grip2 150mm w/ Kashima coating in matte black Shock - Fox DPX2 210x55mm (takeoff from a stumpjumper evo) Handlebars - Enve M6 25mm rise x 780mm length Stem- Salsa Guide 40mm Drivetrain - Shimano SLX M7100 Chainring - Absolute black 32T oval chainring Cranks - Shimano SLX 165mm Chain - KMC gold chain Seatpost - Oneup 180mm dropper (still deciding on this one), not sure how deep of a dropper the frame can fit, and also may get a kashima fox transfer to match the fork if I can find a good second hand deal. Brakes - SRAM Code R Rotors - haven't decided yet but im thinking 200mm front and back if the frame can accommodate it. Saddle - Charge Spoon brown saddle Grips - Deity knucklebuster gum color Wheels - some cheap aluminum ($300) specialized wheelset that was a takeoff from a stumpjumper with shimano hubs Crown spacer - whatever 6mm is in stock when im building Headset - Oneup EDC v2 Pedals - Raceface Chester mint color, although these may clash, and i may go for black in the end or the deity bronze pedals Tires - Maxxis Minion DHR II front and back with gum color sidewalls, 2.4 in back and 2.6 up front. Got the frame and fork in matte black; going for a matte black, brown, and gold color scheme. I think it should look very tasteful. ... and I can relate the anticipation is killing me! Also I wonder if this thing will fit on this frame, I might try it out and see.. https://cascadecomponents.bike/collections/santa-cruz-linkages/products/hightower-v2-lt-link?variant=35723969364122 June 24, 2021, 12:31:41 PM |

Re: The shiney new AM831 Group Buy thread!
Just joined the forum, ordering an AM 831, they promise reasonable shipping time; we will see. It is because they haven't been manufactured yet. As far as I can tell front triangles are done, but there was an issue with the rear and they are fixing it before sending the frames out. June 29, 2021, 01:54:02 AM |

Re: LCFS947 - 160mm 4-bar 27+/29
How do you guys think this frame would ride with 150mm fork up front and 150mm in the back? Do you think it would be a better idea to include a 10mm crown spacer, or should it ride nicely?

Re: The Shiny New AM831 Group Buy Thread!
There is a shop near me that does carbon repair and can do x-ray service on frames (spyder composites). I am thinking about reaching out to them for a quote on an X-ray and, depending on price, getting the scan done on the frame when I receive it and sharing the results here to give us all a better idea of the integrity of the frame before we all send it on the trails. Let me guys know what you think, and whether or not it would be completely unnecessary or useless and something I should just not do.
