Re: Are AliEx/open mold carbon bikes common in your area?
I would actually get more excited if I see someone with an open mold/AliEx bike. I ride on the occasional group rides and it's always the same LBS purchased or direct-to-consumer brand bike. I'm more interested in the custom builds. Nothing irks me more when someone has a $6k plus bike and you can hear a poorly tuned derailleur! Even in a big city like LA, it's always the same name brand stuff everywhere I go.

HA!  My main riding buddy has the top of the line $7k Look 765RS gravel bike.   He's an automotive mechanic by trade but can't figure out how to properly take care of his chain, despite my offers to do it/show him how.  We will be on a ride and I'll say something to the affect of "Do you wear your ear bud in the right ear because because your chain sounds like a couple of Transformers trying to screw or is it just a coincidence?"

Re: Gravel Bar Width poll
For the racer in us all!! thanks

I'm just naturally more narrow than most due to my size.  I'm 5'5" with 380-ish mm between shoulder sockets and pretty flexible.   I make a terrible wind break for anyone directly behind me.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! Anyone else notice the bike China Cycling was riding at the Onirii booth while talking about the Sensah hydraulic groupset?  Looked like a full suspension gravel bike.   I posted a question asking about it and his response was "I saw two today. One looked like it was stepping on a few TREK patents tho... will see if I can find it again tomorrow..."

I did some googling and came up empty on anyone besides Niner making one.

Re: Chinese cycling clothes
Hi

I need new cycling jerseys for road biking. What's the latest word on DAREVIE and SPEXCEL?
Any other brand recommendation?

Thank you

Just got a Darvie long sleeve summer jersey a couple days ago.  Seems just as nice as any other jersey I have in the drawer.    They suggested sizing up so I ordered a medium when I usually wear small or xs.  Their size chart seemed to put me at the very big end of medium.    The sleeves are a little long, but I think I could have gotten away with a size small though it might have been a little too tight.

I picked it up on Amazon as I wanted it quicker than AliEx could deliver and it was a couple $ cheaper too.

I ordered some Kemoloce 3/4 bibs recently haven't gotten them yet though.

And a "no name" long sleeve jersey from "Cycling Goods Store" that I also haven't received yet.

I'm looking forward to trying those out as I never seem to get enough sun screen on.

Re: Suggestions on a; 165mm, 30-46t Cranksets with BSA Bracket
I’m using a 110bcd Sigeyi power meter with Bikingreen 46/30 chainrings on my gravel bike. Works shockingly well!

I've had my eye on this exact setup or maybe just swapping the entire crankset out for something with built in powermeters in the crank arms since the pricing isn't far off.  Glad to hear someone with Sigeyi/bikingreen setup is happy with its performance.

Re: Running MTB wheels on gravel bike When I built up my gravel bike I decided to go with a WTB ST I30 29er MTB Bike Wheelset.  30mm Inner Width, 35mm outer width.   I mounted up some 42mm Pathfinder tires.  They measure 45mm once mounted up.

They've been pretty dang solid for 10 months with a few thousand miles of beating them up on gravel, pavement and even singletrack. etc.

Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! I have that chainring on a Senicx Crankset.  It’s been super solid for nearly 2000 miles this year.

Re: EDS electronic rear Derailleur Spotted this earlier today, road groupset maybe someday;

Also, there is a facebook group dedicated to the WheelTop EDS but not many people using it so far.

Re: EDS electronic rear Derailleur Took my MTB out this morning for the maiden voyage with the WT EDS.

Ride was 16 miles, temperature varied from 28 to 40 degrees.

The battery reading in the garage before loading up was 100% after the 2 hour long ride and drive home, 85%.

System seemed to work almost flawlessly the entire ride.

Towards the end of the ride the system was deciding it didn’t want to go into one of the middle gears coming down, but would gladly pop right back up to it on the next UP button push. An inconvenience that I will investigate that later on.
