Title: 29er Ebike frame
Post by: endo.alley on June 08, 2022, 11:23:39 AM
I am considering purchasing a 29er enduro style frame/ bike to build up this fall or next winter. Something like the FM-E1126 . I think the E1126 are only sold in lots of 30. Is there a similar frame that is sold in individual frames? I am also looking into the FM909 as a cross country bike. Is there much difference between the Flybike and the Carbonda?

It's going to be really expensive and a headache sourcing a shimano motor for a frame build. The dengfu e10 or light carbon frame are probably the best options for an enduro style frame from China. I was going to go this route until I discovered the VMG Typhon. The Typhon is by far the best option for a frame only build. It's a little bit more expensive and they're based out of Australia.  It uses a bafang motor and the geometry is very modern.

Edit: the Typhon is a mullet design. 29er front 27.5 rear.

Thanks. That looks like a great bike. Which Bafang drive unit do you have? And what is your opinion on how it works?

I have not yet recieved mine. I have only placed a pre-order for a frame with an m600. They're supposed to start shipping in July.

Do you think the M510 motor is sufficient? Or is the M600 preferable? I guess the trade-off is having sufficient power at one's disposal, versus the battery charge longevity and the weight. There is also an M610 motor that is out recently. I have nothing to base the torque ratings of various motors to.

The biggest advantage of the M510 is its ultra-lightness and maximum instantaneous power output, which is sufficient if the driving conditions are not very aggressive.
In addition, M510 can be used with BT F25 battery 820wh, preferably both voltages are 48V, but according to Bafang engineer, 52V 17.5ah battery can also be used with M510 48V. ,But so far, our customers have not done this combination, they all use the same voltage 48V motor and battery.

Did you wind up getting the Typhon? If so, any thoughts?

Is there much difference between the Flybike and the Carbonda?

Carbonda is a subsidiary of Flybike. I am not sure if Flybike does the carbon layups or Carbonda does. Flybike definitely builds the frame molds.
