Re: Chinertown logo Alright, for your review.

One is as close to the original as I can get while keeping rounded edges

One is very close to the original, and has a more asia focused globe representation

And the chainring has 32 teeth because mtb...

Also, it looks like the font itself renders the long strokes with that bit of a jagged look, so if we get somewhere you like, then I'll smooth all that out so it can be used high res without risk of pixellated diagonals.

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 Alright, so I got confirmation that production of the FM10 in XL is complete!! It's going out for paint (the matte finish), then they expect to be shipping it in 10-12 days. I'm not holding my breath for that estimate, but almost all the other parts are here so I'm ready to get started. To curb my excitement, I'll share a final parts list with each part weighed on my scale and see what we're looking at for a ballpark weight. Shooting for 27lbs, but the internet specs rarely tell the real story. That, and I have NO idea what the XL frame will weigh.

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 Okay, I think this is the final parts list for the time being. I've got almost everything except the frame and the tires so I doubt it will change (much).

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 Sitar_ned, if you want to move this over to 27.5, I decided to stick with the smaller wheels and see how the frame fares with the flip chip on high and the 185 shock

Re: Chinertown logo Been busy at both work and play so I haven't gotten to that font yet, but I'm hoping to have some more to show by the end of this week. Time in the woods trumps time at the computer :)

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 It was about a month longer than they'd thought. That said, it will be the first production XL mold of the frame, so I wasn't surprised it took them a while to get things going. I'm interested to see how the measurements match up to what they say on the site. I was patient and did not rush their production schedule, I didn't want any corners cut in manufacturing or testing. i was able to get a response from Lisa at TanTan every week or so, so the communication was better than I expected (thanks Lisa!) so I'm very excited to see the final product.

Re: Chinertown logo So this logo is quite the puzzle, it comes out awfully jagged in png/jpg. I think the slant of these letters doesn't work well with a pixel representation. That said, here's an svg. I can continue re-working the lettering to try to get it smooth.

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 Confirming the DPX2 fits. The shock mounts on the fox are closer to the top of the canister, so no problems with swing.

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 I was able to fix the derailleur and the chainline! I took some things apart and realized 1: I forgot to put the spacer in behind the cassette  :o so that was an easy fix. 2. I have the fovno cranks running a spider adapter to a 104bcd 34t oval chainring. Flipping the chainring to the inside of that stack closer to the frame (rather than on the outside nearer to the pedals) gives an excellent chainline putting me centered on the center cog in the rear cassette. I'll take some pictures of how it's rigged up if that would be helpful to you.

If you had cranks with a gxp chainring and didn't use the adapter, it would put the chain line to far outboard and it would cross/bend pretty hard to reach the big cogs.

I went with the boost frame, and the SRide 12speed derailler with an 11-50t cassette. Just to be clear I can confirm I can now access all the gears smoothly. And that makes me happy.

Note: the rear axle that comes with the bike is trash, and sheared on my when I was installing the rear wheel for the second time. Any old rear axle is better than that one.

Re: Another Tan Tan FM10 Emu - here is a pic of the rear tire. I think you could comfortably do a 2.8, a 3.0 might be pushing it but depending on your rim, you might be able to squeeze it in. These pics are with a Maxxis DHR2 2.6 (the wide tire version) on a 40mm rim (33.6mm ID). The rim is a light bicycle AM733 if you want to hunt down more specs.
