Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056

The current version can handle 38mm tires indeed. The information on the carbonda website is outdated.

I will believe it when I see it. I bought mine in spring 2023 and it's impossible to fit a 38mm tire. It will rub against the seatstays.

If the information that I collected is correct, the 1ü56 got an update which allows up to 38mm now.  Guess Carbonda could prove this information just by asking them.

I don't know, for me it's only rumors. I asked Wing the lady at Carbonda before buying and she said they recommend 32mm max. I would be surprised if they invested in modifying the molds or changing for brand new molds just to fit bigger tires. I bought mine last spring and I ride with GP5000 30mm measured at 32-33mm and I wouldn't go bigger than that. I have a 6mm gap on each side of the tires which is standard for safety.

I've been using Kingstop pads for about 2 years. They work as good as Shimano original without the ridiculous price. I think Cooma and Kingstop are probably made at the same factory.

It looks like those concept bicycles from big car companies.

that is basically the same tool to align the hanger :D

I already have a alignment tool so I'm trying to find the fitting to screw in the compression plug or at least make something similar out of different threaded fittings.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: Zrace X4 olive/barb spec?

Be careful with the non Shimano barbs. I ended up breaking the tiny connection on my GRX levers because the barb hole was a little bit too small and the chamfer at the entry of the hole was also not in specs. There is a small tube in the levers and it got jammed in the hole so when I disconnected the hose, the tubes ripped out and got stuck in the barbs.

I would play safe and buy original Shimano for a critical part like this unless you have an original one on hand and tools to measure it properly.

The name play with Easton is kind of hilarious.

Hahaha it's like saying Easton after a dozen beers.

Search for "car plastic rivets 5mm". They are also used to hold interior lining in cars.

I bought a wheelset last year for my road bike and had a look at Light Bicycle. for custom wheels I would go for another company as LB are very expensive compared to other companies.

I bought from BTLOS instead, same hubs, spokes and specs and they were way less expensive than the quote Light Bicycle sent me.

I have the CFR1056 and 32mm measured is really the maximum you can run on this frame. More than 32mm would not leave enough space for mud and debris.

Is this an endurance frame? I don't understand the geometry.

Yes, very close to the Cannondale Synapse geometry.

I'm noticing that many of you mount the bsa 68 bottom bracket instead of the bb86 on this frame, what does this choice mean?  What standards do modern bands support?  Thank you.

BSA threaded bottom bracket are less prone to creaking than press fitted BB86 bottom bracket. If you want your bike to sound like an old rocking chair go for BB86.

They have tons of orders coming in from around the globe, peak season is here and they are a small team working their ass off. It's well worth the wait for the quality and the price you will pay.

Most of the time it's no more than a 40mm distance from the top of the upper headset bearing to the bottom of the stem so around 35mm of spacers if you take the headset bearing cover into account.

I think the best bet would be to send an email to Elves and ask what are their recommendations.

I think you and 2old2mould are saying the same thing. I hadn’t heard of refacing the mount and will reach out to my LBS to see if that’s a service they provide (and think will help). Essentially, when they tightened the bolts, one of the bolts bent and the rotor rubs the brake pad on one side before pulling the brake lever. I’ll follow up here after chatting with the LBS. thanks for the idea!! Again, as a newbie, I don’t know what I don’t know, so this forum is really helpful.

I had to reface the rear brake mounts on mine.
