29er / Re: Vendors with the Cheapest Frame like the CS-057?
« on: July 26, 2017, 11:37:15 AM »
The 057 are available in CS, IP, FM, HF ... etc.
But consider you're getting a faulty one? Than I would be happy when I bought it from Peter. Even when he's a little bit more expensive. He's one this forum. He want to keep his good name.
And I'm not saying the other vendor are bad, but that's my experience with Peter.

Dat is balen. Ik heb hem ook gedeeld. Wel een beetje stom om hem daar zo neer te zetten, maar zag al dat je een fiets 'tekort' had.

Nice frame! Nice color!

For the bottle cage, maybe you can use a bottle cage adapter to get your bottle much lower:

As the topic asks: Which vendors sell the cheapest CS-057 frame? I might still go with Peter, but he's considerably more expensive than every other Chinese vendor.
That's Peter. He's the only one who's selling the CS-057.

Use carbon paste and 4 nm should be enough. When carbon parts are involved, I don't use more than 4 nm.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Essential Tool List
« on: June 28, 2017, 04:06:53 PM »
Hi,

on the parktool site is a nice Recommended Tool Lists:
http://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help?query=&sort=postDate+desc&area%5B%5D=59

Youtube: use good search words, like "rear derailleur adjustments" or something like that

Tips:
- When carbon parts are involved always use a Torque Wrench and carbon paste. ALWAYS!!! Never over tighten, read the instructions of the parts. My onw rule, don't use more than 4nm on carbon parts. Use carbon paste between your seatpost and frame, between the (carbon/aluminium) stem and your carbon handle bar. But it's not needed when the stem and handle bare are made of alu.
- Use mounting paste for everything that should be tightened, like BSA bottom brackets, screws of the stem, pedals.
- Use locktide for screws of the rear hangers, brake bolts, disk bolts.
- And use grease on all spinning parts, examples: on the crank axle, on the outside of the bearings (and inside, but most of the time it's already lubricated) to keep water outside, wheel axles. When everything is on his place, remove the excess grease (don't know if I say this right, but the grease what is to much)

Good luck.

I had to Google translate the word "blasphemy".  ;D

When you're getting older and it's hard to keep up your mountainbike-friends, an e-bike is the way to go.
But yes, when you're young and fit, e-bike is a no go.

Oh, Castelli is a real brand?  ;)

Just received my Castelli socks. Very high quality! Shipping was about 10 days. They arrive in an individual packaging that looks really nice. I'm surprised by the quality, glad I grabbed 6 pairs (3 white, 3 black) when price was low (paid 2.8€/pair).

I have some pairs since last summer(the black and white). As you say, perfect.
The color faded away a little, but I still wear them after many km.

Some other I tried didn't last at all.

Really nice socks. Last year I bought the flour yellow version. This week some black pairs arrived.
With this link they are even cheaper : https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Professional-brand-Cycling-sport-socks-Protect-feet-breathable-wicking-socks-cycling-socks-Bicycles-Socks/32806007629.html

Registered for an account just for this thread because I have some questions.

Is this the same as the CX028 Miracle frameset? If so, why is this more expensive?

Are the internal routing holes diameter ample enough to fit in hydraulic lines for brakes?

Do you offer custom paint schemes? Looking for a single color other than black with perhaps some stripes or simple design. Whats the price and process?

Is the only way available to place orders through aliexpress?

Thanks!
Yes, it's the same as the CX028. Even the GR029 is the same.
The routing holes are big enough to fit hydraulic lines of course.

bottom bracket bearings(cups), brake pads, mineral oil and tire sealant

Some from China too?
Only the brake pads. Looked for the bb, but not yet convinced, read some bad comments about the screw thread. And I don't want to mess up my bb.

I'm stocking them  :)
When I see a good price, I buy one.
+1

just like hub bearings, bottom bracket bearings(cups), brake pads, mineral oil and tire sealant. And recently I also stocking a chain.
I saved the race of my son last weekend with this stock chain.(he broke his chain in sight of the first round and I could replace the chain (already with correct length) within a minute and he was back on track (25th place) and did a Verstappen and got 3rd.)
