I'm on the opposite spectrum of ER9/X users on here, because my ER9 has been working great.

Well, you haven't had it for that long so too early to tell, I'd say.
Mine's also working fine still all the way through a very wet winter here. I'm past 3000k/1800miles now. I too am cautiously optimistic that I might have a well working unit. But so thought SergeK, until they all broke down on him.

I may have started the thread a bit too early - it's not as exciting talking about new toys when they still haven't left mainland China...

BUT in other news, the forks arrived today - Rock Shox SID 110mm travel with remote lockout. $450AUD ($297.30USD).

Now all I need - and any help would be appreciated:

Drivetrain - 12 speed shimano preferred - any deals on Ali worth looking at? BB, Cranks, shifter, derailleur..

Seat post - Rigid to begin with, probably eventually move to a dropper post when she gets a bit taller.

Seat post clamp?

Saddle - something comfortable and light would be best!

FM-160PM adapter for the back brake

Stem and handlebar.

And I think that would be everything!

Joe from China Cycling is in the shanghai bike shoe, in his video of day 2, he is talking of the ERx blue edition V2, seems they made some upgrade especially on the charging port which is now usb C and on the FD.

I used to have a similar power imbalance. You may need shims or insoles. However, just lowering the saddle 1.5cm for me made the balance equal.

They also have powermeter pedals promising to compete with assiomas. Wish they made PM cranks again though
But what happened to sensah?? I think they were the second teased electronic groupset from china after wheeltop but i've not heard about it in over a year

Joe said rim brake will be available later so they are not the same shifters
PM Cranks are mechanically speaking an inferior design to spider PMs. For spider PMs they are build with a pair of sheer gauges that can naturally filter out components of applied torque that are not due to rider pedaling, while crank based PMs rely heavily on post-processing to clean the data to a usable level. You also only need one side to measure true L/R combined power (though the power decomposition to L/R is still more or less guess work), which is especially good if you have a pretty big L/R difference (For me it's 56/44, so a left-side-only setup would overestimate my power by quite a lot)

After ride number 5 where the shifters stopped working, I have finally reached the point of permanently moving forward. Is there a way to use parts (such as the breaking calipers) in a shimano groupset?

I'm using LTwoo calipers on my other Ultegra mechanical road bike. They work pretty good and I was able to standardize my 3 bikes with the same brake pads (GRX, Ultegra and LTwoo).

I'm on the opposite spectrum of ER9/X users on here, because my ER9 has been working great. Shifts are spot on and no issues with battery drain. My groupset has been used almost exclusively for climbing on rough mountain roads, so it's not like it's being babied either with the full range of shifting being used. It's been so good I want to buy another ER9. I'm not the most OCD bike mechanic, but I try to make sure everything runs smoothly.

Maybe I'm using some sort of goldilocks combination where everything is working just right or maybe my groupset was built on a Wednesday so QC was a bit better that day! ;D

Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: LTWOO eGR
« Last post by amacal1 on May 06, 2024, 08:41:31 PM »
I don't have any experience with eGR specifically but in general rear derailleurs should be able to pivot around that 'L-TWOO Drive Systems' screw, yes. In practical terms, this is useful when you want to remove your (rear) wheel but the cassette starts jamming against the derailleur; with a free pivot, you can push the derailleur back, allowing for a clear path for the wheel to drop down. This may not be an issue with your particular frame, however - I guess it's easy to test.

Thanks for your thoughts, that makes me feel a little better. I'm about to do a little maintenance at the end of the week in prep for a long ride I'm taking next weekend. I'll take one last look at it before I leave it alone for the time being.

Can you please support which damper bushing do i need?

Especially the width for dox damper
Is it exactly 30mm, or little bit more or less

Thanks

Exactly 30mm. I used a 30x8mm standard bushing, not offset, from offset bushings.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: RIRO cassette failure

It shouldn't break like that if it's a decent grade of well machined alu.  But it probably isn't, hence the result.  If you have an all alu cassette, then the smaller cogs are vulnerable.  But big cogs after very little riding is a sign of poor quality.

Yeah this is my take on it as well. SRAM’s alu cogs don’t break like this. And we have abundant 32 and 30t mtb chainrings that don’t break like this. I know that Alu inherently will wear fast, but it shouldn’t wear this fast.

I’ll also note that the treatment on the alu cogs was wearing incredibly fast.
