I have had great luck with them after getting two frames and two forks. But some of the recent questions on here had me a bit worried about ordering another from them for my daughter. Looks like they are trying to do what's right.

I finally got the rubbers installed and put on 12 miles last night.

Definitely keep us posted on the lock up issue.

As for torque wrenches, it's good to get them calibrated when you first get them if they haven't been at the factory. If you can get them checked periodically, that's good too. If they stay in a case and aren't abused, once every few years is fine. I use them almost everyday so mine are checked every 6 months but that is quite excessive for most. Dropping them on concrete, say off of a toolbox, voids the calibration too. That's just a PSA about torque wrenches.

What do you mean by locked? Once the dummy shock is removed, it should go through its travel pretty easily.

I'll play. The 5010.2 is mine and I'm currently waiting on the new crop of Bontrager 27.5x2.55 tires to become available. The Tallboy 3 is my wife's bike. Luckily I am only an inch taller than her so we both ride large framed bikes. It's a win win.

The rims on the 5010 are from Nextie which I got in the fall of 2013, before I knew about Peter.
The rims on the TB are from Peter which he had painted to match the turquoise in the frame. The CX-Ray spokes came from him too.
Super happy with both sets of rims.

What size tire do you plan on using? The wider the tire, the wider the rim. Also, if you like leaning the bike to turn in high speed corners, you will want to go wider than normal. Somewhere between 23 and 30 would suffice but I would lean towards 26 or 27 if it's mostly XC like you mentioned.

For comparison, here is what I run

2.35 Bontrager XR4 tires - 29mm inner width rims - SC 5010.2 - ride somewhat aggressive and lean as much as my ability allows - very happy with width and tire choice

2.2 Bontrager XR2 tires - 23mm inner width - WW 062 chiner HT Singlespeed - ride it playfully but strictly XC type of riding - happy, would like wider but don't want to add weight or pay for carbon so 23mm works.
