Re: Clipless Pedals I've bought quite a few pedals. My Wellgo pedals all seem to be way to difficult to clip in/out. Both in spd and spd-sl.

My very first pair of zp-110 are my lightest at 245g. Other zeray zp-110 have been 280g -ish.

As for adjusting the stiffness. I always loosen the nut on pedals check lube. then find sweetspot for smooth pedal rotation and bolt play. Even my shimano 9000 I have to clean and adjust once the ball bearings bind up.

I never tried the speed play systems, egg beaters, time.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame I have the carbon seat clamp and it fits with no gap. My fork looks worse than yours does.  I didn't complain with mine because it was a nightmare getting parts. It took 3 times and 5 months between constantly emailing and waiting for shipping.  My issues on the fork weren't where the bearings rested or with cable runs.

Just scaled up the bike again. 16lb 7.28kg lightest I'm going to get my 168.  I noticed the back wheel was flat after taking pics. I was to excited to see the weight and didn't pay attention.
Want to get out to play with the new wheels. Then I can talk about them. I got new tubes coming to try as well. Obviously I need to replace my old patched up vittorias.

Re: Juin Tech GT-F brake calipers (dual piston) I ran the br02 and br05. The br05 bites firmer and stop much faster. They feels much closer to my Shimano hydraulic brakes. I can lock the wheels but need to pull very hard unlike hydros. The br02 feel soft and slow by comparison.  I used the same ashima rotors.

I haven't done Hills yet. I really pushed them yesterday in the city with lots of hard stops to see. The br02 scared me one time they couldn't stop me completely before an intersection.

I either have less oil or air in my br02 or the br05 has a better seal.  I've boxed up the br02 and will be using the br05. I hope in may to hit more elevation. Wind and cold rain has pretty much described April.

Re: Recommendations for a carbon saddle? Masking or painters tape, Wax paper, shrink wrap tape, and heat gun. Then you'll have smooth layers.

Mask off where you don't want resin. I use wax paper cause my shrink tape sticks too well. Heat gun to remove air bubbles from resin and shrink tape to tighten fiber and squeeze excess resin out.

Re: Vbr 168 and 086 builds The 168 build
Take your time. Be prepared to do a ton of tedious tasks. The cable management is very difficult. I used string and vacuum to feed lines. Then taped a old cable to the string. I could then feed housing.  I started with handlebars. Some prefer to go from the back forward with the cables.

I decided to use sensah empire carbon groupset and just my gravel wheels.  I am very happy with the sensah groupset. I got the winspace wheels cause I wanted a quality set of rims.

Then I heard sigma ordered the elite drive wheelsets.  So I went down the rabbit hole. I ordered up the goldix hollow cranks with oil slick chainrings.  I was getting along with the sensah groupset. So I found a used Sram red 22 partial groupset.

The 086 is a 52 while the 168 is a 49.  The 086 I used a 90 stem and 100 on the 168. The 086 I'm more upright. The 168 is slammed. The distance to the hoods is exactly the same for me.
