Title say it all. I know that most who post here ride because its a great hobby or sport. I personally ride for health and to reduce stress. So what other hobbies does every one have if any. I'll start. Mine is flying. Low time pilot of 3 years and about 150 hrs. I bought in to this shortly after i got my ticket. Its old, but well maintained. She flies great.

How many bikers + bike can travel in your plane ?
Well... I guess that says it all about my other current hobbies :)
-
Hum funny thing you mention this. I can remove the rear seat and then have room two 29" chinners with the front wheels removed. In all with full fuel tanks i could carry two carbon bikes with two 175 lb people with about 200 lbs to spare. This is great for camping gear and such. This would give me about 4.0 hr of flying. Of course you can always stop for fuel along the way. Problem is there aren't many flying destinations that you could camp and then ride. I wish there were. There are quite a few places you could land and camp though.

Cool thread. Mine is downhill skiing and traveling. Don't travel as much as I like though. Foamman1, where are you located? There is a small airport near Sugarloaf ski area In Maine that has trails right there.

In the summer I play a lot of golf. Maybe even more golf than riding. In the winter I Snowboard.
-
Nice! I've never flown a 172 but have flown a 182 a little.

^^Wow! Those are really good, Byrt. Clicked the link not expecting much, but those are some really striking photos. Btw, if I was to be a photographer, I think I'd definitely choose the same subject matter as you ;)
My other hobbies are nutrition and wannabe bodybuilding. Unfortunately, BB and biking don't really mix that well together, so I've spent the last ten years going back and forth between the two. I'm just now getting to where I feel I strike a nice balance between them.

I race cars, play tennis, and fondle women, BUT! I have weekends off, and I am my own boss.
-
I roast coffee but it's really more than a hobby. www.bodkacoffee.com

^^Awesome!
I love coffee...but don't know how to really drink it. ;D ;D

Mine is windsurfing and snowboarding. Good combination for the summer and the winter. And biking the whole year through. The rest of the family (wife, 11 yr daughter, 6 yr son) doing the same sports.
And when I'm not sporting, I like to create software, which is also my work.

Wow!! I can smell the coffee! I want to open my own little coffee shop/ restaurant but I think I will drink all the coffee before we sell it
-
I would love to open a coffee shop. I live in the wrong place for that though. Maybe some day. :)

Never done it but would love to try it.
Flyboarding also looks insanely fun:

This exactly. I've seen those flyboarding videos on FB before and it's definitely at the top of my bucket list now. Thing is, it's relatively new right now, so I'm sure they'll make some advancements in their gear. I don't know much about it; I wonder if the better the jet-ski you have, then the better the propulsion/lift/speed you get? Maybe they come out with some type of turbo kits for jet-skis that allow for longer/thinner/lighter hoses that connect back to the jet-ski. Also, I'm sure they will come out with lighter hoses. Hoses that have special shaped inside walls to create more power. What about special neoprene suits with wings kinda like those flying suits? Would help in air, and underwater, it seems. Maybe not lol. Basically, I'd just really like to see this take off and get a lot cooler than what it already is. And it's already pretty awesome looking.

Ha! I have no clue if it would help at all, but I think it's a cool idea.
Can I have my fly board suit with a shark like dorsal fin?

Yes! You most definitely can. Great addition! ;D

Never would have guessed from your name. :D
Trekcarbonboy, that car is sweet!

Thanks CMH. Back in the '90s I used to stuff my OCLV in the trunk.
Road Rally in it tomorrow.

I snowboard in the winter.
Orienteer/adventure race in the other seasons (which is my reason to mountain bike).
I used to rockclimb indoors a lot but stopped between tearing my labrum and moved to NYC (Jersey City) where there's no great options nearby to head to on weekdays (also they're f'ing expensive up here). NYC Metro area also hurts me for my mtbing takes a while to get to nearby trails and I don't have my friends to ride with anymore.
Flyboarding looks awesome.
I want to get into speed-flying, i tell everyone that's how I plan to die. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tVE7ug4jJaw)

Bumping an old thread.. Recently started getting into custom PC building and virtual reality (HTC Vive).. VR is freakin awesome if you guys haven't tried it yet.
-
Was an avid fan of hiking and camping but haven't done it in about 3 years now. The reason was I moved to another city and wasn't able to find folks with the same interest, plus an elbow injury sideline me for close to a year. Aside from these outdoor activities, I watch movies, lots and lots of movies.
-
I have a movie hobby as well, I've dabbled in creating my own dedicated home theater. Nothing really fancy, 100" screen, 1080P projector, 5.1 surround sound. The coolest part is the HTPC, having 150 movies on demand is very convenient, when we just want to get away from the summer heat, we crank the A/C and put on a movie.

If I'm not out biking I'm probably out doing something else outside. One of my other hobbies/passions/money vortexes is rock climbing. Theres really nothing else like being hundreds of feet off the ground hanging on to tiny pieces of rock! Other than that I do a fair bit of backpacking, backcountry fly fishing and skiing!

That's right... I know that feeling when you just couldn't control your pee from coming out. ;D

I never realized there was such a strong correlation between race car guys and mtn bikers.. Makes sense.

Mountain biking is just a cheaper way to get my speed fix, as well as some exercise. Here is me at one of the local tracks.
