Re: Recommendations for a carbon saddle? Shame more brands don't offer 128mm saddles...

Having gone from using 143mm width short-nose saddles, to a 138 traditional saddle, it turns out a 128 width carbon rail saddle from Prime Bike Components is the most comfortable for me.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177
Man, This hits home. Im currently running a 140mm stem on a bike with 393 reach. I typically ride a 55/56, but after looking at the geometry charts it makes me feel like I need to get the XL as it’s -10mm shorter. Id still need a 130mm that they don’t offer :(

Having dealt with several Chinese brands now, let me tell you that how these brands measure stem length varies wildly. This is regardless of integrated or separate handlebars.

Exhibit A: This is my separate bar/stem combo on my 177. I ordered the 120mm length. As you can see...it measures closer to 130mm.

With a traditional stem, you would measure length from the center of the compression bolt to the where the stem meets the faceplate. VeloBuild however measures from center of the compression bolt to the center point on "the tops". And because aero handlebars are much thicker/wider than standard round/tube bars...this effects overall stem length measurements.

I say all of this to say that every single stem/handlebar I've ordered from these brands have ran at least 8-12mm LONGER than the advertised length. Good if you need the extra reach like me. Bad if you are already on the limits.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177 There is an over abundance of matte black frames in the market and on the road. Might as well be different…

Re: My Dengfu R12 - First Impressions and Video
did you notice anything funky with fd shifting? i have etap axs and the braze on mount is slightly slanted so the fd has to sit higher than manufacturer recommendations bc the chainring will hit it, so the shifting is a little wonky on mine, hit or miss.

Yep had the same issue. Thought it was just me. In order to get the FD to shift properly I had to switch from my 53/39 crank to a smaller 50/34. This could probably be remedied with some sort of shim. I'll be sure to mention this in a follow up video.

Obviously if this was my only frameset I would be a bit upset. But since Chicago is super flat, I never use my FD anyway and I have other bikes for climbing and Zwift.

I'm probably gonna turn my Dengfu R12 into 1x setup with a 53t or 54t chainring, and use it as a backup crit machine.

Re: Speeder SC-R48 I gotta be honest...I am quite intrigued by their Carbon Road Disc Frameset (SC-R49D)

Of all the road bikes I've built and reviewed, that frame seems to have the most aggressive geometry I've ever seen. And that makes me exceptionally happy.

Size: 500
Reach: 397
Stack: 544

And add to fact they have a size 410mm/125mm integrated handlebar.....sheesh! Wonder how much their frameset and handlebar costs with shipping. Keep us informed!

Speaking of SLC, this frame looks a lot like Winspace's T1500.

Re: Speeder SC-R48 LoL can we just take a moment to admire and applaud all the options we currently have in 2022 from these Far East factories?

How long do you think we will see this trend until the Chinese bike market bubble pops? Or when they start charging big name prices haha?
