Re: ICAN triaero A9
My A9 is finally arrived. Video review will follow, but here are some things I have noticed, which I can not judge myself, especially in the headset area.

1.From the picture one can see it is a bit rough (where I marked red). Some discoloration does not bother me at all since it will not be visible anyways.
2. In the video one can see some freeplay between the headset and the bearing. It means, the frame is wider by probably 1mm. Both bearings tested, since I do not know which is the correct one. Do you think it is a reason for concern ?

Looks almost as bad as my Velobuild.  Though I think in the case of the latter that was them chewing it up with power tools.  In your case it looks like they cut into a massive void when they machined the bearing seat, which then disintegrated.  It's obviously totally unacceptable.  In my case it wasn't worth pursuing.  Getting a replacement frame through customs would have been a nightmare.  For this and other reasons (mainly other problems with it), the VB is relegated to trainer bike.  If you're reasonably able to pursue a replacement frame, I would, as that's awful ...

That's a definite no from me. Bearing seat looks rough....

Re: Rinasclta Granite Aero "All Road" Bike Frameset I look forward to hearing you say "Rinasclta" on the youtube video. I've tried a few times to say it myself and my tongue is now tied in knots!

Jokes aside, this looks like potentially the perfect one frame, two wheelsets sort of bike! What holds me back is how much punishment can an "all road" carbon frameset take on the more gnarly stuff?

Cant wait to see what you think Pat.

Re: Advice on fake frames I wouldn't ride any counterfeits even if they payed me to do so. In most places, it's illegal to knowingly buy counterfeit products, so whoever produces them doesn't have to care about quality, safety, or warranty...

Just pay a little more and get a quality Chinese frame.

Re: My Winspace T1500 build My build is finally complete!

Took me from mid Jan to now. It was a steep learning curve, but it was very enjoyable (most of the time). I also had some help from a friend at a local bike shop at times when I got stuck (bb issue mentioned in this thread, final gear tuning, front brake rub (turned out rotor was a bit bent, getting super-tight tyres onto the rim)

Final weight was 7.9kg without pedals and bottle cages for an XL.  To be honest, the weight is not a big thing for me.  Plenty of opportunity to cut weight on the rider! It's got 105 7020 groupset, chain catcher, not the lightest stem, an old saddle, more stack than it needs, longer seatpost than needed, so weight was to be expected.

I've done a quick test ride, but not a proper ride.  First impressions are very good.  Fit is not right and needs adjustment, stack, and handlebar positioning. The shifting needs a bit of work. Possibly too much friction from the guide lines I left in the frame due to my concern about contact points of gear cables on the frame (maybe I'm being too precious about that). Also I'm comparing it to my SL3 which has 105 7000 with fully external cables.

Re: Trek Madone frame As someone who owns an actual Trek Madone SL-7 eTap  (size 56cm)

1. The frames are very well made & the support from Trek is top notch
2. The bike itself is very, very fast & twitchy. It will go in the direction you point it and take you with it
3. The isospeed is pretty good, if you use a comfortable saddle
4. Bontrager tires are terrible
5. Bike will weigh in at around 19lbs with the sram force groupset

Now, rather than buy a clone & risk your neck/spine/other parts, you could get a used Trek (warranty is still good) or a frame from Velobuild/Winspace/Eleves etc etc, all of whom seem to have better warranty than other sellers

That being said, the Madone is designed for all out speed and is not very comfortable on a long ride, so if you are looking for a bike that is a good climber and lighter and comfortable then the Emonda is a much better frame/bike to buy

Re: My Winspace T1500 build Owner of both a T1500 and current Allez Sprint here...

Unless you plan on running identical setups and components (tires, psi, wheels, saddle, bike position, carbon bars etc) it will be quite difficult to detect any significant differences in harshness and stiffness. In theory the Allez should be harsher since it's alloy, but this doesn't mean the frameset is inherently stiffer just because.

Having said that, I do enjoy both frames but for different reasons. Quite frankly both are awesome and you can't go wrong with either, despite the Allez being aluminium. My Allez Sprint setup is lovely for flat fondo rides. The T1500 is awesome for punchy fast group rides/races. Both are super easy to put power down.

Anecdotally speaking I've found the more aggressive my bike position is especially at higher speeds, regardless of any specific frame, the more the harshness is mitigated.
