29er / Hardtail Flatbar Gravel Frame/Fork
« on: December 12, 2023, 03:19:50 PM »
Hi all,
I've spent hours on here looking through reviews and checking out different sites.  I'm stuck and could use some outside help.  I currently have a Salsa Warbird (size 56) but the drop bars just aren't working for me.  I'm going to sell it to fund a build.  I have a really nice set of wheels off the Warbird that I would like to use, DT 240 hubs on Lightbicycle carbon rims (142 spacing in back, 12x100 thru front).  I'm looking for an xc race style bike with a rigid fork that would fit the wheels.  I need the frame to accept at least a 36 tooth front ring.  Can anyone offer an help or recomendations for me?  I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks.

THanks.  I have no idea.  The frame and fork were really inexpensive on ebay and the size seemed right.  I really like the fit and finish of it.  The headset is causing me issues.  It's quit stiff when being turned and I can't figure out how to correct it.  About to take it to the bike shop to see what they can do.  I like it enough to where I might get another one.  I'm on the hunt though to find one that will accept a 2.4 Ardent in the back, or the larger Ikon.

I bought this one and I really like it (I just got it built up and will post pics soon) but I am not sure what "model" it is.  Can anyone help me identifiy it?  http://www.ebay.com/itm/221526014094?_trksid=p2060778.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I've got Stan crests now, but was looking at getting some wider carbon rims.  So the wider rim gives it a wider profile, does that mean less clearance?  Sorry for my ignorance. This is a great site. The mtbr thread is way overwhelming and loads way too slow.

I was wondering what frame would accept a 2.4 Ardent in the back?  Anyone know?
Thanks!
