Thanks :-)

Yes it is always tempting to built another bike. What I really would like and that would suit med is a light 140 mm rear travel 150 mm front travel bike that can take a long dropperpost.  But thats not easy to find. I have a Cannondale Habi 1 thats kind of like that but with a little "old school" geometry.

I also have a Commencal Meta TR29 V4 with 140 mm rear travel but its morae like a fast endurobike, I would like something more playful.

The LCFS958 was a lot of what i´m looking for in a bike so I hope they will come with something updated, similar from Light carbon.

I live in the southwest of Sweden but I come fron the North of Sweden and we have nice MTB riding at both places.

There has been some bikes built. Me, my wife and my son has been  upgraded quite a few times. ;D During the pandemic it was easy to sell a used bike so I could build a bike, ride it for a couple of months and sell it for component costs. Now things have changed, its very hard to sell a home built bike so I have  to many bikes and therefore no space for more builds  >:(

But I am looking forward to the new LCFS948 frame, moste likely  I can not resist to build one.

Another LCFS947 :-)

I just finished another LCFS947. I built one for myself that I sold a year ago. I built one fpr my son who still rides it and I have built two that I have sold to my friends. But I have misset my LSCF947 so I decided to built myself a new one and now i have riden it twice and its a great bike.

I would say its a keeper, but yesterday I saw that Light Carbon is working on a new enduro frame, LCFS948...........

29er / LCFS948 - a new enduro from Light Carbon
« on: September 17, 2023, 04:28:29 AM »
Light Carbon makes the best frames I have built with and the enduro frame LCFS947 is a favorite of mine. The only drawback is that it cant take long dropperposts, the insert is short.

Now there seems to be a new and very interesting enduro frame on the way from Light Carbon, the LCFS948. What are your thoughts about that frame?

it works fine. Now you pay the shipment  with all handling, VAT, taken care of by Light Carbon and you get home delivery. I think I have ordered 2-3 frames this year and I am right now busy building myself a new LCFS 947.

My vote goes to frames from Light Carbon. If you want a trail/enduro bike THE LCFS 947

If you prefer a XC frame. The LCFS 918

Thanks  :)

I haven't had any problems with chains drooping.  But I have put chain guides on some builds:

Hi. The frame was black matte when delivered. This was the first and last frame i painted. It costs more in paint and wears of easier then when painted at the factory. After this experiment i have order my frames painted, is woth it.

Good luck. /Stefan

Hi Stefan, nice build! How does the rear suspension works? smooth or a bit hard? Thank you for your help.

Thank you :-)

I will not take the LCFS918 outside before spring. Here in Göteborg its only mud, snow and rain for the coming 3-4 months. So mid april im hoping to take the bike out on a dry trail.

Thanks for your reply and sharing your experience.

Light Carbon answered me that the BB will drop 17 mm to 330 mm if I run it as I asked. 330 mm is not too bad and with 165 mm cranks maybe pedal strike want be a problem.

Im really considering this as a fun option :-)
