I am wondering how wide of rear tires and rims are people running with 057?
Will it have clearance issue with wide rims + tires?
Anybody tries 27.5+ on 057 frame?
Thanks

Yes, I think it was "Patrick C" who put a set of 27.5"x40mm rims with 2.8" tires and got them to fit.

thanks for the info and link.
sounds like the clearance was real tight. But maybe it will do if 2.25 to 2.35 29" rear tire would fit

Yes, a 2.25 to 2.4 29er would have no problems- I imagine that's what the frame was designed for.
The 27.5+, 2.8 may be possible, but you'll need to go with a narrower rim than the 35 mm inside that I used. I added my tale of woe in the other thread :)

Awesome, good to know. :)

Hi every one. I have been a long time lurker perhaps a year and a half.
I am in the process of ordering an ip-057 from Peter. I have been reading about the panaracer fat b nimble 29 3.0 tire. Apparently it comes up small. I am wondering whether it might be possible to use as a rear tire? It might be ok width wise but the diameter may be too much. I read some where that it measured 69mm wide on a 35mm internal width wheel. I would be looking at using a narrower wheel. Perhaps 24-25 mm internal width.
Otherwise I will look at running 29 2.35 racing ralphs front and rear. My current bike is a 29er aluminium hardtail.

Chances are slim to none that a 29"x3.0" will fit, even on a skinny rim. If you want to run that wide of a tire, I would suggest getting a different frame than the -057. You really want a frame that is designed for wider tires.

Thanks Carbon_Dude. You are right. My wife will also be happy because she did not think it was a great idea either! I guess I was wanting to dip my toes in the plus sized tire waters but I see Peter sells a 29+ frame.
