Yep. Loving this build man.

Beware when it comes to trying to drop hose last few grams.. It can get pricey. There's definitely a point of diminishing returns.

Yep, glad you're OK. Sounds like the bar actually held up pretty well to the abuse you've put it through, but a Taiwanese titanium one sounds like perhaps a better fit for you.

Be sure to share your thoughts on the new bar, your source, price, etc, if you don't mind. Would be interested in hearing

Looks great already!

Bummer about the fork / downtube problem. So you did anticipate this issue? Is it a common one specific to fatbikes, this particular fork, or this particular frame?

WTF? I have a hard time even believing that's real but apparently it is.

My pile shrine of future fb parts is growing nicely...

All hail the pile!   ;D

I think the Nasa theme is a frkn sweet theme for one of these bikes. Ahh.. the blue wheels.. I don't know. I can kinda understand what you guys mean with Walmart-esque (I refuse to say the word! ;D) look but on the other hand, I think it might've looked really cool. Especially with the Nasa theme. That said, I guess you don't want to be taking risks when you're dropping big bucks, and the carbon weave is guaranteed to look bad ass.

Thanks for posting, we need more road build threads on the forum.

That is an awesome looking frame, man! I'm basically a newb when it comes to road bikes, but is the RB-01 more of a racing/aggressive frame or more of a relaxed/cruiser frame? Hope that makes sense, like I said, not really up on the road bikes.

There is a limit to what non-brand name components I'm willing to purchase.

Absolutely. I agree. But that limit would probably include a few components if they tested out well.

Cranks, cassette, pedals, etc that are high quality materials and design without the added expense that a name brand usually adds would be pretty awesome. I'd love to pick up an XTR level chiner cassette for $50.

Do you guys think this is something that may be available in the future?

I got the fr-202. Gonna put it together next week.

Any chance we get some pics of build and frame?

Chiner glamour shots! Lol. Very nice looking ride Byrt.. So you're liking  it better than the steel frame, I assume?

Riding buddy of mine has a circus monkey stem on his bike and so far no issues. I've looked at it up close and all the metal and screw holes looked clean and of high quality. Seems like a good choice for you since you need a specific color on a budget. I say go for it.

Yeah, it limits the size of your upload. It's for the better, actually, as it keeps pages loading faster. Just use imgur or one of the other image upload sites.

Def look forward to seeing them and hearing your opinion on them. Ive considered pulling the trigger on a pair myself. Bhs hubs and all.

It seems if somebody would import about ten of these frames at a time.. find a deal on bulk shocks and add a shock, then swap out bearings, do an overall quality check and assurance, and then sell them for say $800 then they'd have themselves a pretty viable business on their hands.

Of course I may be missing some vital info/cost that would disrupt the whole thing but on the surface it seems like a homerun.

29+ & 27+ / Re: Can 29er MTB frame assembled with 27.5er wheels?
« on: July 29, 2015, 09:38:40 AM »
That 256 frame with 27.5+ tires seems like an awesome idea to me. Standard 27.5 tires would mostly likely change it for the worse though.

So with the 27.5 wheels and 3 inch tyres does anybody know if the bottom bracket height would be about the same as if the frame was outfitted with 29er wheels with standard sized tyres? If so, that's something I'd seriously consider and bet a lot of other guys would too. Peter?
