Re: Interesting Aliexpress finds! - good deals, interesting stuff, new products etc! If anyone is looking for an affordable bike light that doesn't blind people coming the other way, this Lumintop B01 is very good:

It runs on 21700 batteries and you can change the battery.

I live in Canada and German STVZO approved lights are not for sale here and ordering them online gets expensive.  :)

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056 I wanted this frameset for a year now, I ordered on February 3rd just received the email with pictures of my frame this morning (Feb 23).

I like that they covered the bottom bracket face for paint. I won't need to get it faced at my LBS

Size: L
Color: Green to purple Chameleon.

I will post the full build when it's ready!  ;D

Re: Standert Bicycles (Berlin Brand) - Who Makes Them? Any Alternatives? I know Seaboard on AliExpress makes steel frames. One of my friend rides with the CR03 and they look really neat.

Re: Gravel bars with rise and shallow drop Have you tried a narrower handlebar? This might help you a lot if you feel that your handlebar is too low. 46cm is pretty wide unless you need the width for a handlebar bag.

I recently went from 44cm to 40cm and it makes my bike so much more comfortable.

Re: Disk brake pads I bought semi-metallic brake pads from Kingstop on Ali Express for my GRX calipers and they are very good so far.

I can't comment on their durability as I only used them for a couple of weeks at the end on the season before winter here in Canada.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177
Hi all, after waiting 'patiently' my 177 frame finally arrived and the colour looks great, quality looks to be good. Very excited to start the build process. I had a question regarding the crownrace. This is my first build, so excuse if it's a stupid question.

As I push it on and does not seem to sit flush with the 'shoulder' of the fork. Is this correct? I cannot push it any further down. Is this done purposely or is the racer incorrect? To note it fits the bearings perfectly which also fit well in the frame.

It looks like you have a fork with an integrated crownrace so you don't need that. The bearing is going to sit directly on the fork.

Re: Carbonda Cfr 1056
The inside of the head tube on my FM1002 isn’t exactly like that but I can see the similarities in the manufacturing technique. Definitely some surface “wrinkles”/protruding edges of carbon sheets and excess resin you wouldn’t expect to see in a branded frame but not quite as sharp edged as those seen in your picture.

It’s not as clean looking but likely has no structural effect at all. Just saves them some money to skip that level of obsessing over how it looks on the inside.

I really wouldn’t worry about it. What you thought might be a void is probably just a chip that separated from the excess surface resin. Doesn’t tell you anything about the interior structure of the frame.

You could probably even sand those prominent edges down a bit if they were rubbing on cables or something, and have zero issues from doing it.

Thanks a lot for reassuring me! I've been reading on this forum for quite a bit and gathering info on carbon frames before buying. This is my first carbon frame and I may have seen to many Hambini videos so I was worrying.  ;D

Pics of the build coming soon.
