So I'm feeling a little bit of regret not pulling the trigger on some items from the recent sale. I figure I could just wait til the next big sale, but I don't really know when that is?

These are the sales I know of. Let me know if I'm missing any.

11.11
New Year/Chinese New Year
Anniversary sale

Are these the big 3? Are there more?

Thinking of recording rides.  Are any of the Chinese action cameras worth looking at? Something like a SJcam or should I save up for save up for a DJI/GoPro/Insta360?

Vendor Discussion & Reviews / Thoughts on Panda Podium?
« on: April 25, 2023, 02:59:08 PM »
If you follow chinese components you're probably aware of Joe's channel on youtube (China Cycling) and his upcoming venture Panda Podium. https://www.pandapodium.cc/coming-soon/

What are your thoughts on it? Is he just going to be a middle man? Could he be the customer service solution we've all been wanting? Will this forum disappear into obscurity once he launches???!!!!  ;D

Ok so this topic has probably been done to death, but I'd like the forums thoughts on it. A few years ago, the general consensus was chinese carbon bars were not worth the risk. Has this changed?

My gravel frame (Flyxii FE-02) is on the way and I had fully intended to go with alloy bars, but now am considering carbon. The price for most flared alloy bars is similar if not more expensive than Chinese carbon bars from my online perusing. I could go super budget with kalloy uno regular bar stem combo. Are the flared bars just gravel aesthetics, or are there tangible benefits?

I'm wanting to build up a gravel bike but would really prefer not routing through the headtube. Maybe I just need to get with the times and accept thats the new norm?

I was first thinking an alu Seaboard frame but its limited to 42mm tires, and after shipping its pretty close to the carbon options. The only traditional routing offerings with good tire clearance seem to be the flyxii fe-02 or carbonda 696. Significant price difference between these two. Flyxii comes out to about $500, and the 696 just about $800.

Are there other options I'm missing?

Component Deals & Selection / BTLOS Wheels
« on: March 03, 2022, 10:16:32 AM »
Finally pulled the trigger on some BTLOS wheels after a few months of research. Found a coupon that took $80 bucks off their already reasonably priced wheels. Couldn't pass up on that deal!!! Just thought I'd pass it along if anyone else is looking for wheels.

*Coupon is now expired*
I'll update this thread with the rest of the process.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / FM-011 build question.
« on: February 26, 2018, 09:32:02 PM »
Hey Everyone,

I’m building up my second Chinese frame. My first was a Zhongwei R-002 before they bought up Velobuild. Now it’s called R-022? I also have some Yoeleo 38mm wheels which have been fantastic. Highly recommend them.

I recently purchased a used FM-011 and will swap my wheels over to it along with my Campy chorus groupset from my caad10. My question is what do people use to plug the di2 holes if using mechanical? Any suggestions are appreciated.
