The chain tensioner on the TX looks the same as the gravel derailleur. Its not a true clutch and I would expect some chain slap with it on rough terrain. Mid level shimano stuff would still be a vastly superior product in my estimation.

Also if you are impatient to wait 15 or more days for Aliexpress shipping, many vendors on Amazon sell better rotors for very reasonable prices and they all come with Shimano branding on them, complete with that little orange sticker from original rotors. Not sure what's happening there. Even the lockring is Shimano.

Here is one such listing for the brand "Balinge"

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CXDQZCRX

I have these, they are Shimano RT54s. Fake or not but better than Onirii/Racework hands down.

Ronde cycling store on ebay has been my go to for rotors when I'm in a hurry.

I'm so sick of the shitty icetec rotors. What rotors are you guys using? Any great centerlocks from ali?

I just get shimano rotors from Ali or Ebay. RT10 or RT54 have worked well for me. Nothing fancy, they just work.

Nowhere near as many reviews of this group as ERx. Trace velo had some issues with his. Don't know if he's done a more recent update on it.

Have GR9 on my Salsa. The thumb shifter cannot be accessed from drops because it’s located way too high. If you are going to have flared bars, it’s even more difficult.

Edit: actual shifting performance is great though. Can't find fault with it. Its the lack of finesse and that thumb shifter placement take away all the fun.

Ltwoo hydro thumb shifters can be reached from the drops. They are different than the mechanical version.
I’d suggest the GR9 11 speed over the 12. It’s just easier to tune and keep tuned.

the only thing i could think of is it got killed because i left it  directly in the sun, the metal part of that RD wouldve got some serious heat. it was 38 degrees celcious here that day.

My summers top out in mid 40's celsius, though I don't usually ride in that heat!

Somewhat peculiar. I'm looking for white colored stem (not polished silver) but can't find it. Kalloy Uno has silver ones and on eBay I found a single listing for white Uno stem not sure if it's white from factory or was painted over. I know Aliex search can be very difficult to get to specific item and would appreciate if anyone can find white Uno stem?

I see a few white ones, but lots of logos on them.

Just received a reply from 80's designer on sending me a new RD and wanted US$15 for shipping.

Sounds about right. Glad you got it sorted.

After The Ride / Re: How addictive is bike building?!
« on: April 17, 2024, 11:19:42 AM »
I'm not a fan of the actual building, but pricing out potential builds has become a hobby for sure.

Full sus bikes seem to have the most issues just because they have more moving parts and more "holes" that need to be within tolerance to work well.
Lots of people happy with them though.

Did anyone have to contact 80's Designer store for a warranty issue? I messaged the store but didn't get any reply regarding a batt problem.

My ER9 (bought Nov 2023) seems to have a battery drain issue which depletes the batts about 10% everyday without any riding.  Batts are new Vapcell F12 and all firmware updated.  Compared to another ER9 set that I got in Feb 2024 which drains maybe 1% per day which probably seems to be the norm.

Anybody have a similar experience?

I had a to get my shifter on my GR9 group replaced. 80 Designer store sent me another and I paid shipping. They had the typical timezone delay on responses.

Metal Frames / Re: Another Seaboard GR02
« on: April 15, 2024, 10:19:11 AM »
I've recently build up my seaboard gr02, in the special Blue/Purple glitter color way they have. Tbh the color is a bit too much for be, but oh well. This will be my main commuter, do any of you happen to have found fitting mudguards for the rainy days?

Build specs:

9.2 Kg
Cockpit: canyon h18 and stem (Had as spare, used an adaptor for 1 1/4 to 1 1/8)
Bartape: Og-evkin (Actually feels really good, paid 8 usd)
Wheels: Koozer cx1800 (Build seems pretty impressive for the price)
Tires: GP Urban 35C
Groupset: Sensah Team pro shifters, 105 r7000 rear derailleur, Shimano Cues u6000 42t Crankset
Brakes: Illpro flatmount semi-hydraulic, 160 illpro disc rear, sram centerline 180 in the front
Seatpost: Tooseek super light
Saddle: Ryet ultimate full carbon eva finish (Only 110 gram, and feels really comfy)
Others: 105 cassette, dura-ace 11 speed chain (Acutally bought a kmc chain from ali, but turned out to be a fake :/ )

Overall really happy with this frame

Nice looking build. Curious to hear how those Koozer wheels hold up over time.

hi team,

ive tried to contact Ltwoo for a warranty claim with no luck, anybody have any experience with this?

essentially i rode my bike on a hot day and  now its not working, i have a red light in the rear deraliour. i have replaced batteries and battery housing stick with no luck so my only other choice would be to replace the rear.

i rode the bike with no issues during a 39 degree celcious day then stored it and it has completely died..... it can charge and pick up a Bluetooth signal but nothing else.

This is concerning for me considering a future purchase. My summers are ridiculously hot and humid. If it can't handle heat, then I'll have to pass on it. Please keep us updated.

So I'm feeling a little bit of regret not pulling the trigger on some items from the recent sale. I figure I could just wait til the next big sale, but I don't really know when that is?

These are the sales I know of. Let me know if I'm missing any.

New Year/Chinese New Year
Anniversary sale

Are these the big 3? Are there more?

Thanks

How much storage do you need? Is there a big brand example of you're looking for?

Mine (well one of the two, the other I am still repairing it after a Car made it fly a few meters) in road mode

Nice. Where did you get it painted? Flyxii only offered matte or glossy black.
