Hi All,

Currently riding on Winspace Hyper D45 2023 with Carbon spokes, previous bike having alloy wheels. I have notice that the carbon spokes give the wheel a more unforgiving feeling when riding, noticeable extremely stiff. This is great for power transfer obviously but I feel like it affects the comfort compared to a spoke like the Sapim CX-Ray or other metal spokes. Long term I am unsure if I want to keep riding the Hypers due to the ride quality or if it would be better to switch our to a different wheelset. I almost think with the roads in my area a more forgiving wheel would result in more speed from enhanced comfort
So asking you all,
1. For riders that have ridden both wheels, are metal spokes a better option for comfort?
2. Any recommendations for wheelsets that are 55mm deep and have metal spokes (Might keep Hypers and buy 2nd wheelset)
3. Do you think I am being a baby and overthinking the wheel stiffness?

Looking forward to all your opinions

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Winspace T1550 Build
« on: February 07, 2024, 02:33:25 PM »
Not many people post photos of their completed bikes on here, but I always enjoy the posts. So I wanted to post my recently completed build on here, and share how much I spent. A lot of builds on here are really balling on a budget but I really purchased from mainstream vendors for less sketchiness, build came out to $3,288 assembled by my LBS

Mechanics first "Chinese" build at the bike shop, he was very impressed with the quality and noted that the internal cable routing gave him no problems. All of the workers at the bike shop where really interested in the build and none had ever heard of Winspace. This really shows how obscure this forum is, we are so far away from mainstream. He did ride it and was super impressed with it, I told them how my goal was to create an entry level roadbike, but have carbon wheels at the same price point.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Pricing Sheet for Chinese Builds
« on: December 17, 2023, 04:06:16 PM »
Tldr: Linked spreadsheet is what I used to determine what I should buy, few different price points. Also I have a collection of discount codes

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1fy4op-Zab2_uQ7Q71fPE9zrVnLoIcBQjucV7uYBvkPY/edit

I have gone down the rabbit hole and collected my findings in one sheet so that others could benefit from it. My goal years ago when I started dreaming was to have a $3000 build that outclassed entry level 105 equipped bikes from the mainstream brands. The sheet does not include pedals and saddle cost, mainly because they will transfer between bikes.A few criteria guided my decision
1. Brands must have card payments or Paypal Transfer… Bank transfer to China too sketchy for me
2. I wanted something “aeroish” as I live in East Tennessee. All my rides have at least 1000 ft of climbing as a result
3. Groupset had to be from Shimano or SRAM. Merlin cycles has great group prices, and I did not want to be a LTWOO test subject. I settled on Shimano 105 due to budget.

This really narrowed it down to the “Mainstream” China Brands like Winspace, Yoeleo and ICAN. To me personally Winspace was always my #1 choice, but after they increased the prices with the T1550 released I looked at cheaper options. This Black Friday I started to pull the trigger and got the T1550 with bar and Hyper 2023s for $2205 after another 10% off with discount code. Honestly I could have saved some money if I got the Hyper SE wheels, but hell with it. FYI, I know there are many frugal KINGS in this forum who will point out how I could have saved $ here and there, but I wanted a straightforward build with no scary china shipping limbo. Hope this helps any newbies out there, and feel free to ask questions. Hopefully it will be assembled by the end of January. Special thanks to everyone in the forum for guidance and knowledge I have learned. I will update the “Actual Build” column after I finish buying everything.

Hey all,
Am narrowing down the frames I want for my china build. Ranging from the expensive Winspace and Yoeleo, to cheaper Velobuild and ICAN. Currently the Ican A9 is leading, as the lower price will allow me to get a nicer groupset. I cant help but notice that the ICAN A22 and A9 have some similar looking counterparts at Yishun/ lightcarbon. A9 I have seen similar to others
A22 looks similar to LCR015-D
Anyone know if they are connected?

P.S. My budget is $3k. Please brainstorm and comment parts list for inspiration!
