Hi all
If i refer to Yuananbike.com which is teh manufacturer for elitewheels, it look likes that the rim itself can be either used as rimbrake or Disc brake
https://www.yuananbike.com/product/carbon-fiber-cycle-rims-38mm-depth-road-rims.

This put aside, from your posts i understand that :
- nipple angles might be different due to hub width
- hub might be difficult to find for front wheel (20 spokes)

to answer some of the questions :
Why not selling :  rim brake track can be used (not new)  and Chinese wheel don't have a great resell value
Why bothering :  i don't want to have another wheel set sitting in the garage  :),
for the glory of lacing a wheel by my self ?
for the same reason  i purchased a chiner bike and assmbled it :)

based on all your comments , i'm not sure to move forward with this project, still interesting discussion.

stupid comment : it's a botch that can end with death => Only if i use brakes  :)  ;)

Hi all
I recently changed bike from a rim brake to a disc brake.
I'm wondering if i can transform my elitewheels PRO rim brakes 38mm deep to disc brakes?
i understand that i would need to rebuil the wheel with new hubs and new spoke , but would the rim be compatible ?
thanks a lot for your advices

hi guys,
for those who wants to compare and see what the P505 data looks like. here are two fit files from the same workout in Zwift (ATTAC).
One from the Magene P505 and the other one from the TACX.

Hi all some feedback on the P505 magene powermeter.
Data provided  looks weird to me with lot of variation from one second to another.
i'm comparing the data with my TACX FLux and even if average  power seems to be consistent, the variation in values make no sence.
I contacted Magene support and from their prospective (after sharing some compartive fit file)  , everything is normal...
so my point is that i cant recommend this power meter and as mention in some other post Magene support was useless.

do you have any experience with the tubolito or ride now tubes?
how do they perform against puncture?
do they hold pressure well ?
i've read mixed feedback on various forum so i havent pulled the trigger yet....

looks like i found the guilty componment :  Fonvo ring...
the ring as a design that is not compatible with the Mangene.
I had to grind off some 52 ring rear ribs that were interfeering with the powermeter ring mount (see attachements)
I'll have to check but it lookslike this shaved 2mm and the ring is now spining round.
i'll double check once reassembled on the bike.

hi guys
I finally received my magene P505 110-3.
I assembled it on my CVR Hardrock cranckset with a set of 52/36 Fonvo Deckas chain ring.
the combo chain ring + powermeter is larger than the original chain ring of the crankset, so i had to adjust the front derailleur top end  screw.
but this led to front derailleur to rub against crank arm :(

any idea on how to solve that  ?
if i have to change the crank, any suggestion ? what would be the caractéristic to look at ? Q factor ?
thanks for your help

hi guys ,
I've seen those products, but carbon version are to expensive for a fun trial :)
there is an alloy version, but still around the 80€ including shipping cost.
looks like there are not that much option on ali and that the kanto version is only available in philipines ...
too bad .

Component Deals & Selection / Surly coner bar equivalent
« on: October 27, 2022, 09:33:42 AM »
Hi all
I've seen on youtube soem guys doing some nice transformation of MTD to gravel bike using Surly's coner bar.
i've been looking here and there but wasn't able to fin an affordable alternative to the expensive surly.
The only ones i found where either carbon one and thus expensive either not sold to france (only philipines via Shopee).
Any idea, any deals i may have missed?
Thanks for your inputs.
