Re: Light Carbon LCFS917 XC Frame Hello guys, I'm new on this forum but I read it for a pretty long time now because I build and ride Chinese frames since 6 years now.
The last one was a Hongfu FM258 that I loved, but unfortunatelly it was stolen on my car. I found a KTM Scarp Sonic to replace it for this (strange) season, but it doesn't give me the same pleasure as the Hongfu, and my addiction for full black frames has resurfaced  ;D
So I was looking for a new one, with a much modern geometry than the Hongfu, and the LCFS917 caught my eye despite the little information we can find about him.
So I tried my luck without conviction, by sending an email to LightCarbon, and I was pleasantly surprised when they replied that I could indeed buy this frame !
For the moment I have paid the deposite, and the frame should be ready end of October. I will give you update at this moment and make a little review of it of course.

(Sorry for my English, I am a French guy and I know that we are not known for our level in foreign languages  ;) )

Re: Light Carbon LCFS917 XC Frame A little update of my order for this frame, it is finally ready to ship ! I bought an extra derailleur hanger but I don't take a spare kit of bolts because it is $100 and I never had to replace a bolt on a frame.
Here is a picture they sent to me, it looks pretty good with the UD glossy finish I have asked.

Re: Carbonda fm936 Thoughts These Novatec are really good, I have them on 2 pairs that I ride since 2 and 3 years, and they are always turning smooth.
For spokes, you should try Pillar Xtra 1420 : pretty cheap (around 1€ per spoke), very light, and imo they offer a great reliability to the wheel because they can't twist under tension.

Re: Wind-Vane Cycling Rims I ordered 2 pairs of rims (these with 27mm internal width, one in light version 310g and the other in reinforced version at 360g).
For the moment I only received the light ones, the finish is really good, compared to Duke Lucky Jack SLS I can't find any difference. The satin UD finish looks very well, the spokes holes are clean and oriented, and the weight is respected and even a little lighter (300g and 312g).
I haven't truing them so I can't make a review of the build and the riding, but I am very satisfied about it so far.

Re: Light Carbon LCFS917 XC Frame Here is the list of components with their weight, I have not received them all so the total weight is not yet verified, but I think I am around 9.8kg and hope to go under 9.5kg in the future more or less close.

For me, this is 160mm front and rear.
Total weight is around 8.5kg, and 8.3kg with the light wheelset that I have on the full-sus.

I sent an inquiry today and here is Wing's answer :
- FM 909 : US$ 950
- FM 909 + handlebar HB156 : US$ 1060
- headset : US$ 15
- rear axle : US$ 15
- shipping cost for one frame set : 3-10 days : US$ 230 / 15-35 days , Tax free : US$190
- standard matte : free
- UD glossy，black matte, black glossy :US$ 45 
- One color: US$ 70.00

So for the frame in UD glossy finish, delivered, with handlebar, headset and rear axle there is something for USD1325, which is approximately equivalent to 1107€.
I was ready to take the plunge for this frame, I will change my mind.
