Re: Curious what build weights people are averaging on their bikes?
I didn't build my Chinese carbon frames/bikes with particularly lightweight components, but I think they turned out pretty light in comparison to my other road bikes.
2018 Chinese S5 replica 17.4 lb.

Man I have been looking for a decent S5 "inspired" frame for a while... what is the make and model?

Here is my build. FM208. I got it down to 6kg/13.2lb with a carbon saddle, 1x drivetrain, tubular wheelset + Tufo S3s. Was awful to ride and slow though, so I put my padded saddle back on, went back to 2x and got some aero wheels + GP5Ks. Glides like a dream now.

Re: Consensus on replica frames ?? IMO there are enough nice originals to not do this. It sucks because the Cervelo R5 is my dream bike. But I would never buy a replica frame

Issue with attached images Not sure where to ask- I have an issue where if I open an attached image in a post it shows at full image size, rather than downsized to the window. Is there a setting for this? Drives me nuts.

Re: Velobuild VB-R-177 I am intrigued by these. 32mm tire clearance is great. I have a couple of questions:

- Any common issues to look out for?
- These do have conventional 27.2mm seatposts correct?
- Can I order the frameset w/no bars for less money? Would def rather get something else
- Any comparison pics of the S vs M? I am kind of between sizes but prob closer to the M (would just need a 10mm shorter stem + bar vs my 54cm FM208). I also think I would prefer the longer head tube + taller look of the M.
- Also would love to see any pics with 60mm deep wheels.

Some very nice builds here.

Re: dcrf26 frame - Scott Foil? I got my weight weenie build out of my system so an affordable stiff compliant frame sounds great to me!

Re: dcrf26 frame - Scott Foil? That is a good looking bike. Kind of bummed that it doesn't come into its own until ~23-24 MPH though...

Re: Consensus on replica frames ??
I think the regular bike prices have been tacky. You will soon have to be a millionare to buy a road bike.
Not really, especially if you buy used. Plus with all the affordable "original" frames there's no point in buying a fake frame, unless you want to look like you spent more money than you could afford which seems to be the case with you.

Paging patliean1- VB-R-168 vs Dengfu R12? I think I have narrowed my next build down to these two frames. I'm not a powerhouse but I am heavier (hoping to get down to 80kg). Roads around here aren't too bad; I plan to run either bike on 30c tires and wide wheels (though I'm OK with dropping to 28c if clearance is an issue).

Pat from what I remember you said the Velobuild was a little flexy while the Dengfu was a little stiff. This will also be my first disc build (I would like to go hydraulic). So based on comfort and ease of assembly which way would you go? I am kind of partial to the Dengfu as I like my Dengfu FM208 rim brake build and the general look of the R12.

Can we have a gallery thread? Would love a thread where people just have 1-2 pictures of their bikes with the following specs:

Make
Model
Size (people always seem to forget this)
Wheels + tires (with wheel width + tire size to judge clearance)
Weight
Link to full build/details

No comments! Would be nice to just see what is out there

Would also be cool to have 1 thread with all the current brands and models available with links and a brief description (i.e. Elves Falath Pro- rim/disc brake aero frame, $1000USD)

Info is just a little too decentralized IMO

Re: Can we have a gallery thread? Dengfu FM208
54cm
Amazon Elitewheels 60mms (28mm wide!)
28c GP5000 clinchers
7.1kg as pictured (had it down to 6kg even with questionable weight weenie mods)
Fun all arounder and my first build. Some Dura Ace bits and a Quarq PM (which frankly I'm a little disappointed with). Itching to try a sub 7kg disc brake build.
