Title: DTSwiss E 1800 or cheap chinese wheelset?
Post by: abdbeg on May 11, 2023, 05:07:27 AM
I'm looking for a cheap wheelset for my build, what do you recomend 1800 spline 32 db or some cf chinese wheelset for 300$ budget?
If chinese, what brand do you reccomend?

For that budget I wouldn't go carbon yet. Chinese carbon new above 500ish is interesting. Under that budget I'd stick with second hand alloy. But I think you could probably find better deals than E1800 for $300. I got 2 pairs of pairs of DTSwiss 1600 for 250 each

Here's an orthogonal advice 8)
Keep your $300, save $200-300 more.
And in a few months buy yourself shiny carbon rims with bitex hubs and pilar spokes.
You won't regret it.

I'm sure there are plenty of options - my wheels from speeder cycling are 35mm front, 45mm rear in depth and under 1300g with Sapim spokes for USD $500 - just have to also pay postage.
